2G, 1A tonight, centering the 3rd line now. Seattle is so stacked that he's a point a game player on the 3rd line getting little PP time. He was on the 1st unit for most of the season though.

Definitely a 2nd rounder level.

And somehow wasn't even one of the three stars tonight. I do think he may sneak into the first round like Schaefer did last year

I have him in my top 25, and may even have him higher by the time things are all said and done. He's doing a lot of damage at ES and is extremely versatile. Reminds me a bit of Dawson Mercer.

Rising up my list as well - don’t know where I’d have him but he has gotten better and better as the season has progressed.

Love the consistency.

The TBirds will be Sawchyns team next season. Seattle will lose their whole top 6 and then he will be slotted into the #1 center spot.

I truly think he will be a late 1st rounder in the upcoming draft and the team that takes him will look like geniuses by the end of the season next year.

I would expect Jordan Gustafson(VGK) to be traded next year for a good return and I think next year Korchinski will be returned to Seattle from Chicago and then the TBirds will trade him for a king's ransom(somewhat similar to the Zellweger type return) to a contending team and recoup alot of the 1sts they traded to make this super team they currently have.

EliteProspects has him as a Canadian international now. Guessing that means he's switching to Team Canada?

Seattle should still be a competitive team next year. Have Gustafson, Sawchyn, Myatovic and Iginla to lead the offense with Korchinski on defense. Milic will propably be back as a OA plus Ratzlaff so 2 top goalies. Probably move one of the goalies to fill a forward or defense spot. Plus some intriguing young guys in the system. Sawchyns draft+2 will be the start of the rebuild imo

If they somehow get Celebrini to commit, that would be a coup. Not likely, but I didn't think they would go and get Lambert and Guenther either.

A smart Import draft would also make them competitive again next year. Mynio could be a late round pick and I'm really high on Pickford for 2024.

Still feeling effects of injury maybe? I’ve been really disappointed by his performance at the Mem Cup
Yeah he's been pretty poor for the last few weeks, and not getting a lot of ice time in the memorial cup. Not sure if it's injury or not, but he's fallen a lot in my rankings in that period.

Was he even playing? It looked like Seattle was rolling about 10 forwards in the Memorial Cup. Should have stayed in the USNDTP imo, but likely had a bag dropped outside his door in a year Seattle went all in. While I'm sure winning the WHL and a Memorial Cup run were fun, he probably died a little on the inside each time Seattle added another superstar forward to push him down a spot in his draft year lol.

Could he have stayed with the NTDP? I though he left because of citizenship issues.

He barely played. Maybe a few shifts per period for most of the Mem cup.

They were essentially rolling 3 lines + subbing in Popovich / Sawchyn in from time to time.

I'm not as high on Sawchyn as some people are on here. I've watched him all season and he was good in the regular season, he largely disappeared in the playoffs. Might have been injuries, who knows.

He didn't get much PP time once Spicy Dyl/Lambert/Dach came on.

He also doesn't bring much to the table in terms of defense.

If you scroll back in this thread it looks like he only has Canadian citizenship. Why USA Hockey allowed him to join the u17 is a headscratcher. I guess they thought he had a sure pathway for citizenship? That hasn't come to fruition and may not unless Sawchyn pursues it.
