We will give Nazar a pass for goibg pointless in his firstcgame orceven first few games back...rust being off so long.. Howver if he goes pointless after 2 weekends of play THEN temper the hype.So I give him 3vmore games to get his timing back beforexanyvcriricusn of no production games is put forth...3 mire mulligans in reserve...by then tge real impact of Nazar shoukd be manifesting...or not...if hevis just Aidan Thompson or Ryan Green production level as a freshman thatcwoujd ve disappointing given the hype and draft position...So expecting better ..but giving him 3 mire gamesctobget back in the groove and to make big impact scoring...Do nit want to seexalk flash but not finishing results for the shown. So waiting for rust to shake off after a few mire contests before realky judging his level of impact...

The Oracle Of Hockey (aka OOH) hath spoken. Nazar has been granted 3 more games to prove his worth or he will be banished to the hinterlands of expectations. So sayeth the great OOH.

You can watch Michigan vs Michigan state tonight on ESPN U. 7:00CT

The Guide says the game is from Mund Arena which is the MSU arena in East Lansing they played at last night. The game today is supposed to be at the Redwings arena (Little Caesar's Arena). I wonder if the guide is wrong or if it is a rerun from last night?

Probably just a mistake.

-Nazar may not have shown up on the scoresheet but he showed his speed and creativity.
-Fantilli is not a bad consolation prize after Bedard. 6'3" that can fly. He scored a goal, had a sick assist and multiple times he stood up for his teammates before being thrown out. Portillo and Brindley got hit and he was the first guy in both times defending his teammates. He wasn't just grabbing one guy either, he fought off 2-3 times each altercation.
-Brindley, he is a smaller sized guy but he clicks with Fantilli, not a bad 2nd round pick? Speed and skill

No complaints if we wind up with the 2nd overall pick. A 1-2 punch of Fantilli and Nazar would rival anyone in the league.

Brindley would be a good 2nd round pick. I've seen many people starting to rank him in the 1st round and I think that's overrated. Just seems like he's really being boosted by his team, and the size is a concern. But I'll circle back on him and get a more final assessment.

Totally agree on the size of Brindley. You can't have too many small guys in the NHL level lineup to win in the playoffs. I would love to see Kalen Lind in a Blackhawks jersey

He's built like a beanpole right now, but if he's able to fill out I could see him being a pest to play against. Maybe like a poor man's Matt Tkachuk.

Honest question. How did Nazar fall to 13 if he looks so dynamic? I suppose the same reason Zegras went where he did.

I just find it funny, because Wright was so highly touted but I never saw highlights of him being dynamic anywhere.

I'm surprised he did.

One thing though is that Nazar progressively got better as the season went on.

He had more growth over the course of a season than any other prospect I watched last year.

So although it would be dumb, if teams based their opinions on earlier scouting of Nazar, I could see why he was outside their top 10. I remember when I first saw him like November 2021 he struck me as a late 1st. As the season went on he rocketed up my board to 8, and even that may have been too low.

EliteProspects was really high on him. They had him at 5th overall and said he had the highest ceiling in the draft. Meanwhile Bob's list had him down at 15. NHL organizations weren't that keen on him I guess. Thankfully Mike Doneghey is our head scout.

Obviously a lot of Hawks fans watching this game...Nazar was invisible/looked rusty in this game upto this game...even in this goal he carried it in not moving very fast..but to his credit patiently , calmly ,held onto the puck, ..did not waste it passing...took his time, fired it and scored.

So not really a world class top speed goal...ratger a ratger slowing long time cruising in waiting pas or shoot decision...he decided to hold onto it then fire ...So credit poise, patience and calmness in taking his time then shooting abd efficiently scoring on his chance.
