Is he playing tonight?

Yep. Sounds like hes going to play with Athanasiou and Filppula which will be second line-ish minutes plus hes getting on the PP. I wouldnt expect him to play a tonne tonight, he got home from Milwaukee at 4 am last night and this iwll be his third game in three nights.

I hope he gets a long look.

He would be such a good fit in the long run (On the second line and Mantha on the first)

According to Ken Kal he is playing tonight.

I wouldn't expect much with it being his third game in three days.

He is so much improved away from the puck its almost night and day. He absolutely deserves to have a top 6 role in the trash heap that is this Detroit roster. That game was putrid to watch, absolutely nothing clicking on offense with Mantha out. I think Zadina should play in Larks and Bert, I was impressed by his hustle.

That was Slaavin he dangled too, pretty good season debut for him. Especially impressive given it was his 3rd game in 3 nights. He was the most dangerous offensive player for Detroit tonight
This is why Detroit needs to keep him up, he always looks dangerous. This team is talent starved to the nth degree. And I'm saying this not because I think he will turn this team around completely, but because he legitimately looks like he deserves a top 6 role on this team.

If they want to put him in a position to succeed, sure.

If we're keeping him up to play him with Filppula and Helm for the year, he'd be better served spending his time in GR.

He kinda seems like the type of player that's a bit of a head case. When he's confident he's great and when he struggles he tries to do too much.

Is that what is passing for a dangle these days? Nice move, but not a dangle if you throw it off the boards in a pass to yourself.

Its a nice simple move and is an example of what he needs to do more of. Sometimes he over plays it, he just needs to do more stuff like this more consistently. One move then go. There have been times where hes doing spins and god knows whatever and the defender is just watching him and like "alright I'll just wait here for you to lose the puck".

Nice simple, effective.

Looking forward to all the posters who only post in this thread when Zadina’s struggling to stay clear from it until his next cold streak/demotion.

Nothing better than seeing an explosive player starting to look explosive in the big league. The games are more fun to watch when players like Zadina are excelling.

Even at the start of his call up he was consistently one of the wings best forwards by the eye test and advanced stats. For some reason he kept getting stuck playing on a line with 2 guys that have less points than Bernier combined the last 25 games. Never got a chance with Larkin and Bertuzzi even when they were in a 12 game losing streak. He finally got to play with someone half decent last night and puts up some points.

Hopefully they keep coming. I think hes going to be slow to develop but when he gets there hes goingt o be very dangerous

It took Tarasenko 5 years to become a star. People are so quick to look down on a younger player if they do not produce right away.

Playing against the Habs tonight, if he doesnt score expect this thread to be pretty active the next week lol. With him outscoring Kotkaniemi in 14 less gmes this year the thread might be a little more dead than last year but this is always going to be a fun little rivalry lol
