Two assists yesterday, putting him at 11 points in 16 games. More importantly, there are way more moments where Zadina looks like the most dominant player on the ice.

How old is he? Not even 20 yet. Let's not forget the kid could be playing junior still... Correct? He's still a big piece of the Wings future. Between him, Seider, Veleno, and Ras at the top we finally have a solid group of prospects. Superstars? Maybe not, to be determined but all have legitimate shots at being impact players in some form and that's a great start to the Yzerman era.

He wouldn't be eligible for junior since he's a late '99 birthday. Still, people were expecting way too much if they think 35 points in 59 games is disappointing for an 18/19 year old in the AHL. Maybe won't be a superstar but a good bet for a high end top 6 forward.

Best part of that stat line is that he was pointeless in his first 5 games. Since then hes been a different player. Hes finally had a couple multi point games too. His assist last night on the PP was really nice too

10 in his last 10. 5 goals, 5 assists. Generating assists with great vision, off his shot. Scoring with his big shot, scoring with deflections, scoring by getting dirty at the net front.

As he gets more confident, he’s gonna ride that confidence, try more things, and flash that high end skill, but the most important thing I can see is his production is following the biggest lesson that I would hope he would learn in GR: learn to be productive in whatever way necessary. Learn to be dangerous regardless of the situation or position he is in.

Yep and a great thing too is that hes been dominant and oculd have a few more points. The production is coming AND hes passing the eye test which he didnt at times last year. Great to see him getting away from the perimeter play

Liked Zadina's game when he was with Detroit for a bit last season. But I think he needs to play with offensive minded players to excel given his style. He works the open lanes well but lesser players don't play that way.

Rasmussen's having a fantastic season so far. He suffered big time from the NHL/CHL agreement, in that he wasn't good enough to be in the NHL last year, but was too good for the CHL.

End of the day, I think Rasmussen probably isn't as skilled as a successful Top 10 pick, but his size and demand for that role gives him the Top 10 value.
He was not too good for the chl.

Yes he was.

To just quote the person that put in the work a long time ago:
Pre surgery
22 GP 16 goals 15 assists 31 points +9 1.41pts/gp

Post-surgery (regular season + playoffs):

39GP 31 Goals 31 assists 62 points +16 1.59pts/gp

He started fairly slow after returning from injury though, 7 points in 7 games. If you look at this numbers since that point, he had 55 points in 32 games. Almost same numbers as Vilardi's regular season totals (58 points in 32 games) which is fairly interesting considering the wiiiiide gap between how the two are ranked.

And you wont find too many playoff performances better than his 16 goals and 33 points in 14 games

Not to mention there's absolutely no point in a 6' 6" 230 lb monster pushing around 160 - 180 pound kids.

Which is great, just not 5th overall offensive prospect great...

Pointless to start the year. Not saying that we should act like he’s a ppg player in the ahl because he’s not. But the progress is exciting to us. He’s really starting to turn a corner. Hopefully this injury doesn’t set him back too far.

Is he playing tonight?

I'd be very, very surprised if they don't play him with Mantha out. Might not get a lot of time though with it being his third game in three days, but they wouldn't call him up today if they weren't planning on playing him imo. Mantha is expecting to be out at least a week, so it's not just precautionary.
