He changed his Instagram profile picture and took Montreal Canadiens out of his bio.
Maybe a little upset about being sent down. A little childish on his part he's a first year pro you can play in the minors if your organization thinks his not ready

I mean maybe he feels undeserving of calling himself a Montreal Canadien now that he's been demoted?

Self motivation to get back to the bigs?

Unless he really is a punk and I'm way off here.

So it's everyone's fault but Caufield.

In all seriousness this is an important inflection point for Caufield. I'm sure he'll be better for it.

Haven't watched Laval but 1G,3A, -5 in 5 games seems underwhelming for him.

it is, he's not looked right although today's game was his best so now that he's finally buried one hopefully he starts to get back on track. Last year he started off slowly and then the goals started coming left and right, so we'll see if that's the case.

The Habs have to be the worst team in the NHL when it comes to development, so many mistakes it blows my mind how professionals could be so bad at their job. But Caufield is highly skilled, so while lots of players have struggled in his Sophomore year, I am not worried about him as he will bounce back and wreck havoc on goalies in due time.

Did you think he earned his spot during training camp/ preseason? I get he did great during the playoffs last year but he is still a rookie and shouldn't have been handed a roster spot if he didn't earn it.

of course he should, he was one of our best players in the playoffs. That's not handing a spot to him, he earned it.

I agree with this. Easy to say in hindsight because the start to this year isn’t what we all thought. But if you asked me in September if he at least earned a spot on opening night based on his play in the playoffs in the best league in the world the year before it’s an obvious yes

He was brutal in NHL. Putting him in AHL was right nove. Kid has to grow sone balls and work a bit. He look like a soft Prince out there.

They figured 2 games was enough last year, and 6 games was enough this year? I would have thought he'd be tearing up the AHL to call him up now.

If he starts scoring again, Bergevin looks smart. What is he going to do if the kid has another tough stretch? Send him back again?

Should never have been sent down in the first place. Other than Suzuki he's consistently Montreal's most dangerous forward.

Well I'm going to say I feel somewhat sorry for the boy. He loves the game. I hope he can improve enough. A full year or two in the AHL might be best for him.

Caufield played on the Habs tonight? I watched most of this game and didn’t notice him. I do tend to focus on the play around the puck though.
