Bertuzzi, Domi and Klinberg will all most likely have career years this year.

Bert had 30 goals and 62 points in 68 games two years ago in Detroit. That's his only season close to that production but his shooting % wasn't unusually high by his standards . If Bert is healthy and he's playing on that top line and getting pp minutes I think anything less than 30 and 65 would be disappointing.

If they roll Bert-Matty-Mitch all year good odds they end up best line in the league, and Bert racks up something like 0.8 ppg he plays, with half or close to half being goals.

But probably Mitch gets moved around a bit to help struggling players.

I think Bert will have a career year if he can stay healthy. Just don't see how he won't get his chances.

I think there is a good chance he will be on PP1 and knock Willie to PP2. Ideally, I would knock JT out of PP1 and put Bert there but we all know Keefe won't do that bc JT is the C with 11mil AAV.

He's really had a "scattered" bio in terms of games played each season . . . so extremely tough to predict. But he's very skilled with a great edge - and his high watermark so far is 30g 32a in 68 games for Detroit 2 years back.

I think "expectation" is 60 games; 20-35 goals and 50-80 pts.

So yeah . . . we have no idea.
My dream? He has the talent to do 35 goals 40 assists if he plays almost a full season on the top line. With grit.

Wouldn't Bertuzzi and Tavares play the same role on the PP?

Bertuzzi likely won't be on PP1, nor should he.

For all the issues the team had PP wasn't one of them.

The PP was #2 in the league don't mess with that

They do but as I said, Keefe and MGT will not take JT off PP1. And I highly doubt JT will come out openly and said, it is best for the team if I am off PP1 like he did with I can play LW if it helps the team win....

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was responding to your thought that he replaces Nylander on PP1.
Where does Bertuzzi play on the same PP as Tavares?

I think Bert would be a more disruptive net-front presence than JT is, and for that reason I would like to see him there.

The most positive thing for JT is his faceoff % - 11th in the league on the PP (minimum 100 taken). Hard to replace that, although it only represents about one more faceoff win every two games better than someone at 50%.

I really don't think the 'C' or the cap hit should determine where anyone plays. Hopefully that's over as far as JT goes, now that the person who gave him both is gone.

Yeah, I don't think that's a thing myself. I don't think it ever was.

JT will be the bumper and Tyler in front of the net while Kling will be up top and AM and MM or either side of the dot.

Personally, I would use MM as the bumper, Tyler in front, Kling at the top with AM and Willie on either side to create a PP with three hard shots.
