there's some IIHF reffing.. that hit needs to be in the game, you have to be aware that someone's coming on the ice there

Knazko booted out of the game. It was shoulder to shoulder tho.

Shoulder to shoulder and their heads collided a little. But it was accidental and certainly not a 5 min penalty.

Czechoslovakia had amazing teams... they were the only real competition for the Soviet Union...

I grew up watching the Statsny's... incredible players... and there were more Popsiocil... Bednar... Bubla... skip forward 20 years to 91' Canada Cup...

Still C-S... Jagr, Berenak, Cigar, Palfy, Kron, Kucera, Musil, Pivonka, Reichel, Slegr, Rucinsky...

Wow...

Takes money and a stable organization like Hockey Canada or USTNP...

Communist systems are great for building sports teams! Everything is free, everyone can play. Eg. Canada is amazing but it's a rich person sport funded by hockey parents. In communism, they grabbed the best athletes and built them up. Czechs are a smaller and poorer nation. But also, there is corruption in their leagues and it's foolish. It's not a great place for a young Czech to develop into an NHLer unfortunately... all our best current crop left...

Vrana and Pastrnak - sweden
Has - Finland
Voracek - CHL
Mysak and Pytlik -CHL
Francouz - KHL, AHl and NHL
Mrazek - CHL and KHL
Necas and Hertl stayed.. I think Hertl is the last guy that went from Extraliga to NHL. I'm not sure who the next one will be.

The refs are all Canadians...

And our rules in the CHL have pretty much morphed into IIHF rules...

So rules are rules... even if they require one to defy physics of both opposing players...

I believe the Czechs only have a single two minute minor penalty this game. I could be wrong. I believe it was on the Chromaik breakaway when it was 0-0 and should have been a penalty shot.
