We're talking about the Art Ross winner, right?
yes we are. Our top three players for Canada though are Brodeur(come on, he's our #1), Lemieux(He's old, but he awesome when he is on) and Sakic(another veteran who is usually on his game.)

Sorry Canadian Man ..i should of used a tongue in cheek smilie .

Those work.

Note: Unofficial MB way of showing sarcasm is by putting a ;) at the end.

BTW, anybody just hear that girl who asked the guys on The Fan if Team Canada is like the Olympic Mens USA basketball team with "All hype and no play." The broadcasters pritty much told her politely that she is a moron. They were saying things like, "No way, not even close." and "You can't even compare." And they answered her as if it was the dumbest question they ever heard. Kinda was a dumb question.

I didn;t know the broadcasters are from Canada!

The only thing this game accomplished is maybe it will stop Canadians from laughing at the team USA roster until the start of the tournament.

Guys like Brodeur and Lemieux are clutch veterans and are needed badly in high pressure tournaments like this. Hopefully this will also stop any comments about Luongo being better than Brodeur, or Brodeur is only a product of his environment, and Mario shouldn't even be on the team.

If Brodeur's costing his team the series crap performance in the last playoffs ...

Brodeur was the reason why the Devils did not look as bad as the Stars against the Avs. He was one the the best players on the ice for the Devils in that series, and it is not his fault if the big forwards of Philly can plow over Martin and Nieds.

Most people are fairly calm. Remember guys, Canada hit three posts in the second. Don't forget the fact that the U.S only had their really good scoring chances in the third when the D were pinching for Canada. This isn't even as bad as Salt Lake. This is the first game of the exhibition games. We're at home for two more before STARTING the tourney. Canada could lose the next two and I still wouldn't be worried.

losing in exhibition doesn't worry me. but seriously guys, let's give the US team their due. from what ive seen from highlites and heard, they just wanted it more

even with lemieux, st louis, richards, and brodeur (partially) out, canada is still a better team on paper in my opinnion, so that excuse shouldn't fly. i think we need a few games to gel as a team still(see: 2002 olympics), but that's to be expected.

congrats USA, but we'll get you back in Ottawa ;)

I just got back from the game. Very Intense for an exibition game, and good, old fashoned NOrth American Hockey.

A Few Key Points.

-Brian Leetch still has it

-Dany Heatley has it

-Kirk Maltby shouldnt have even been allowed in the building.

All in all a very good game. Dipetro and Broduer were both outstanding. And ouside of the first few minutes of the game, age didnt seem to hurt Team USA.

By the looks of it, age has an advantage. Its good to have young players, but some of Canada's aren't even rype yet.

:shakehead

What players are you exactly referring to?

Yeah and he is going to be on the #1 defensive pairing right?

He isn't even going to play in the tournment. Canada is filled with vets, and the only "rookies" won't even see the ice.

Way to go Rico!

I hope the World Cup proves to the Luongo fans that claim Brodeur is overrated, that nothing is further from the truth. I see Brodeur enough and he scares the hell out of me a lot more than Luongo.

Great to hear DiPietro played well. Hopefully he wins the job and continues to do well, opening some eyes in the process.

He's not just the overhyped cocky puck-handling netminder that was selected 1st overall in 2000 anymore, he's becoming quite a good goaltender, and is already an NHL starter at the age of 22. I'd love to see him win the starting job over Conklin and Esche.

I never laughed at it, i've always thought the U.S had a pretty decent chance to win this sucker.I think their toughest games are all ahead of them and this game does'nt mean much(as it would'nt if Canada had won 3-1) but i've never said the U.S was a laughing stock or were too old and all the rest of that crap that i've seen a lot of.I mean, they've got guys like Modano,Weight,Drury,Leetch,Guerin,Tzachuk, etc.Seriously now, how bad could they really be?,any fan coming on saying this team is ready for the old age home or has no chance either A) does'nt have much hockey knowledge or common sense or B) wants to get American posters riled up in here. That's my guess anyway.
a lot of canadians have been laughing at it though. just look at the comments on the tsn articles. "geriatric usa squad" is a popular one.

I just saw the highlites and Luongo did let in two soft ones. I think Bordeur is a lock for the #1 spot. Now the battle will be for who is backup. Theo may surprise.

I was disappointed that there weren't any fights. Come on its an exhibition game! Oh well, we all have Wednesday.

Tkachuck and Foote almost went at it at the end.

Smolinski and Blake were looking to fight for USA

ditto for Maltby and Morrow for Canada...

Dipietro >>>>> Luongo.

Mike Milbury = Absolute Genius.

What a trade.

In seriousness, come on, it was just an exhibition game. The first high level game some of these guys have played since the beginning of April. Let them shake off the rust without jumping down their throats. Luongo is still a great talent and after seeing the highlights, the US didn't get any freebies, two great shots and the other was a classic hard working manufactured goal. Not unstoppable but no reason to send Luongo packing. As a Canadian, I'm a bit dissapointed that the team didn't come out and dominate but it's a heck of a lot more important to come together when it counts.

And on the other hand, as an Islander fan I'm sure glad to hear Ricky played great. I said before this summer that this tournament will be his coming out party and he's sure off to a good start.

USA Suxxors!!1

But they just beat us. :( lol

I am so psyched for the World Cup. :D
