Remember ppl, we were without our 3 best players.
Who would that be, for example. Well, Lemiuex is one. Who are the other two? You can't consider Richards a top three player for team Canada. St. Louis is probably top 5.

and I laugh at stupid people, old people, and people who think they're cool, doesn't mean I hate them. In fact, I'd rather move to canada anyway for the health care and hockey coverage.

If you want good health care, stay as far away from Canada as possible. I talk from... bad experiences.

Man this thread really sucks now. Canadians whinning about the loss, Americans making fun of the Canadians etc...

Just be happy we got to have some hockey tonight for christ's sake.

The US really took it to Canada tonight and were easily the better team. As much as I don't like the end result, I realize that it is only the first exhibition game. Sure they didn't play well tonight but that's what these games are for, they are tune ups.

Some of my fellow Canadians need to chill out a little bit, I suggest getting off the computer and going for a walk. :D

With the way Canada played tonight, calling 3 players who didnt even play as "our best" would be acceptable.

Whatever, Canada has a knack of starting out on the wrong foot.

I don't know if those three players would have made a differance tonight. Maybe, but who knows? It's not like Canada lacks for offensive firepower.

And thank god Luongo isnt your #1 :D

This game should make it fairly sure Luongo is promoted to popcorn serving duties

This should hopefully permanently stop the INSANE suggestions of Luongo >>> Brodeur

Please, it was 30 minutes in an exhibition game. If Brodeur's costing his team the series crap performance in the last playoffs didn't put an end to the INSANE Brodeur >>> Esche suggestions, why should this put an end to people suggesting Luongo >>> Brodeur?

It was 30 minutes in an exhibition. Geez. Some of you people are messed up.

Everyone needs to knock off the Country bashing garbage.

Everyone on this board is a hockey fan and seeing that the World Cup may be the last hockey we see for a while, ENJOY IT regardless of who wins or losses.

Walks? I go for runs. They really get the blood flowing.

Lemieux always makes a difference, though. Even if he doesn't get any points. He makes everyone he plays with so much better.

Whatever floats your boat....

Anyway I am not unhappy with Luongo's performance because now maybe Theo can grab the inside track at the backup job.

This takes the pressure off us now as SURELY the US is now the tournament favorite ..maybe the under dog Canadian squad can surprise a few teams ..i dont think ANYONE will ever score on Dipietro again !!! :innocent:

Did Luongo look that bad?

He let in a very weak goal about 9 seconds after he was put into the game. He just didn't look very comfortable in there.

Not a big deal. Let's just say he was rusty. ;)

I was kind of surprised at how physical they were playing for an exibition game. Foote and Tkachuk almost went at it at one point and there were quite a few big hits.

How does an exhibiton game determine the favorites???

Good question, I think they will start with Theo and have Roberto come in.

I have a feeling they'll start Luongo. He might do better if he plays from the beginning of the game. I'd imagine it must be hard to jump in cold in the middle of the second period of a heated game.

I think I would also go with Luongo, just to try to cheer him up from this game. Then bring Theo in, who should play great.

The loss can't be entirely blamed on Luongo. Rolston's goal was pretty much unstoppable, and besides..it wasn't Luongo that wasn't able to get the puck in the net for Canada. The US badly outplayed the Canadians, and no goalie can be blamed for that. I expect a better effort from them next time.

But from what it sounded like from the Radio feed it sounded like Canadas game when downhill FAST. And that the game where much closer and more even in the 1st 1/2 ( with a REAL star goalie) and than with Luongos entry it sounded like the team lost all confidence of that the door would be shut.

That's true. They are gonna want to get a good look at him on Wednesday, but I am still gonna be rootin for Theo ;)
