Sweden always lose (and big) to USA in juniors.

And it always starts with an early bad goal...Seriously, Grönborg has to go. This has been going on for way too long without any kind of improvement. The Finns, Czechs & Russians never loses like this against the americans, we always do.

Full credit to USA though. Much more impressed by them than Canada.

Only a goal from winning gold in last WJC.

The problem with this team is Ward, and that we need more games on the small ice.

He's a bad in game coach imo. His strength is as a motivator. So it's not a surprise he's lost two finals in OT, and the third he went full Pejorative Slur and we lost 7-0 or so. I'm not sure I've ever seen a team of his mount an important comeback in the U18s/U20s. Either they come out firing or they don't, usually. He's got his fair share of 5+ goal losses now. I don't recall many of those losses before or after him(with respective age group), if any. I really dislike coaches who go full tilt.

Glad to see the University of Michigan kids playing so well and representing the US - Motte, Compher, Larkin and Werenski.

Go Blue!

Go USA!!!

You think you have a bad coach?

The Swedes did what they could tonight without their starting goalie and without a key d-man.

Team USA will look to their 10 goals as something great but those came against a team struggling with player injuries - their concern should be that Sweden scored 5 goals - I don't know what the shot totals were for either side...

Where can I find box score and highlights? Looks like Wild draft pick Alex Tuch lit it up.

USA hockey has a scoring summary:

Wow, just wow. USA is great, absolutely, but what the hell is that thing in the goal? 15 goals against him in 2 games... Worst team ever and the injuries and illness have to stop asap.

I hope you realize that about three of those Swedish goals were in garbage time, plus Eichel didn't play the second half of the game. Plus of course, the US third string goalie let in those goals and wasn't strong.

The really amazing thing is that the US put up a ten spot on a not terrible team and Jack Eichel didn't even get a point. :naughty:

That won't last long . He's gunna dismantle this tournament.

I might pick you up on that one, old chap. Unless the goaltending, defending and transitioning kicks up a few dozen levels and quickly, this could be a brief and ugly tournament for our lads.
