USA's top 6 players were better than Canada's. That is a fact. They're better in the NHL right now too. Rattie hasn't done jack, Huberdeau has been a disappointment since his first year. I admit, Scheifele, Mackinnon, Drouin, and RNH is a good group of forwards. But USA was way better defensively that year.

They also had a clear edge at goalie.

The irony..

LOL

Love this kind of arrogance. Great bookmark material for later on in the tournament.

Dont see the game, but can see that Nylander has another point, good that he produce. Who scored and make the assist on the first goal for sweden? That twitter account just talk about USA.

Söderström gone? 3 injures so far.:/

On paper, Canada ALWAYS has the best team. That's just how it is. If you were to look at our Olympic team on paper and compare it to any other nation, Canada would be the favourite every time. But Hockey is not played on paper, and its very random in single elimination game tournaments. Sure USA has a good team this year, but Canada on paper is just plain better (on paper).

Can not say that I agree. Canada have not been in semi-finals in WC in the last 5 years, they have not take a medal in WJC the last 2 years. How good players you have should be determined on the ice, not by who is best in creating hype around their players. If the team that according to "paper" lose time after time, then obviously the paper is wrong and you should change your mind about who has best player on paper.

Canada is however very good at creating hype around their players, in that department they are superior to everyone else, but hardly in reality (the ice). For me canada has the last years going from being the leader nation to falling behind the other top countries. I dont see them among top 3 anymore.

Winning 3 of the past 4 Olympics doesn't even get up top 3? Okay then.

No, Ward is still playing.

Or is he? Number one and a white mask? Wasn't that what Ward had?

Wow we're in trouble if we're stuck with Ward

Last time i checked- games are not played on paper. Will not surprise me the least if the US wins Gold in the end. Canada's goaltending is suspect to me. Fucale did not overly impress me last year. US has the edge in net, and their top forwards are just as talented as Team Canada. In this tournament- you can ride a hot goalie all the way to Gold. Not a fan of Canada just naming their two goalies without any competition, while a guy like Tristan Jarry was not even invited to camp to compete for the starting job. Games are not played on paper. If they were- Canada would not be on a 5 year Gold Medal Drought.

Sorry if this sounds dumb- but what player are you referring to?

I don't think that's clear. Sweden only has one healthy goalie and called in some Canadian kid to backup this game. I'm guessing a local.

The important stuff so far, I think, has been that the US has stayed out of the box, and that Nylander (whom the announcer keeps calling NIGH-lander) has been really quiet. It looks like they're trying to match the Hanifin-McCoshen pairing against him.

Also, tons of neutral zone turnovers by Sweden. They chip the puck out, it hits a US player, and the US player chips it back in.

**** Tuch looks awesome. I'm getting flamed on the other thread saying he's better than Lazar, but **** it's clear as day. Love that guy.
