Let's face it, it's not Spezza this thread was created for.

The odds of Matthews getting 15 in Pittsburgh? Marner and Dubas reunion?

At the very least it will be a source of "potential" offers that will drive our next contracts through the roof. It was bad with imaginary offers for JT, imagine real from Dubas trolling Leafs.
Imaginary offers for JT? He did a week of meetings with other teams.

I might have followed him if he had moved to an acceptable team. 😁 But the Pens were my first ever hate team in the NHL, so are not possible as a second team for me.

There is a little bit of truth among the Dubas lies. He actually was worried about his family. He was worried about uprooting his family to Pittsburgh if his longshot powerplay to get Shanny removed and a huge raise fell through. So the answer is his family, he's taking them with him. And I really hope he takes Tavares with him too.

Metcalf is the only one that has never played organised hockey at any level. Pridham and Reidv have played jockey at lower levels.

Nevermind that it’s an absolute fallacy that all your AGMs need to have played hockey, at any level. It really only matters based on what they’re doing. Let’s say hypothetically, Pridham never played a game of organized hockey in his life, he’s a capologist. He brings a valuable skillset that simply doesn’t require it

That’s true but I’m guessing. Dubas is relieved to walk away from his Leaf mistakes with a clean slate so I doubt he wants that mess of a goalie back
Remember how he kept Barrie even after it was clear he wasn't a fit for either coach? And how he brought back Malgin for another attempt at making him an NHLer? Maybe he goes for Murray with 50% retention to prove he was right? Probably not but who knows? Goalies have always been a puzzle to KD and MM may still have some love in that organization.

Where did Cliff Fletcher play?

Curious I can't find any record of that ... started as a scout for the Canadiens ... any hockey playing at all?

Don't let that stop you, go ahead and make the jump over! No idea why any real Leafs fan would care whatsoever where a former GM goes.

These Dubas threads can definitely take a hike already.

Looking at the D it doesn't really like like a spot for Holl with the right D already on the roster but you can't discount the fact that he is his boy and a symbol of Dubas "outside the box" thinking when he signed him.

With only 8 forwards currently under contract there is a spot for Kerfoot.

You have to belief Keefe ends up behind the bench (at least as an assistant) as soon as he is no longer employed by the Leafs (hopefully this summer).

You might be on to something, he does seem to keep making the same mistake over and over

He’s not taking Keefe with him. He has a much better coach already in place
I agree but he f***ed Babcock. Sully has a lot of clout tho .
So now we ll see how dubas feels
Still don't see how he got a promotion for winning 1 round in 4 years

Tavares is absolutely not going to follow Dubas and leave his childhood dream.
Dubas will be forgotten by the Leafs players by October.
This is all about business not a boys club

Tavares leaving to join Crosby, Malkin, Letang etc as a vet team poised to win one more cup could be a selling point for him to waive his clause . Is it realistic? Probably not, but who knows...we can try wishing it into existence?

I get tired of so called leafs fans wondering what dubas will do or what player we trade does better with his new team.

Let these guys go. Dubas has no integrity and no defender of his can accept the position he left us in with the NMC and terrible team management.

There's literally not a single name I'd be sad to see follow Dubas to Pittsburgh other than Rielly and Schenn (and obviously Woll).

He can take his shitty cabinet of AGMs. He can take his petulant overpaid forwards. He better take his shitty goalies.

The irony here is he may have actually found one in Woll, but he won't be around to see it.

Man is this board insufferable at times. Absolutely ridiculous take to clear house or assume everybody is going to want to leave.

Have none of you ever experienced a change of supervisors before? Some people end up liking the new one and some don't... doesn't mean the company fires the entire department or the supervisor brings the entire department with them.

Also ridiculous if you can't at least acknowledge that Dubas did some good things here. Every GM we've ever had has had some positive things they implemented and some shortcomings.

Other than if you have an AGM or coach in mind, assess over the next 6-12 months and make any additional hirings/firings you want at that time once you are semi-informed to make a call on who should stay/leave. The coach you can make an assessment based on the on-ice work.
