So 2-2-0 on the road trip. Not bad.

The Kings are setup nicely from here on out. They should take one of the wild card spots with relative ease.

Re Doughty I really don't think so. I think he's had some inconsistencies, but he was phenomenal last night until he got lazy on the Marchessault play. That pretty much sums up his season though. People are really hanging on his bad plays but I think his highs have been even higher than last season, but his brain farts are more aplenty; we were spoiled by him being as close to flawless as I've ever seen a defenseman be last year (until the very last game and the playoffs, go figure ). His underlying metrics are even better this year than last, too. He's actually edging quietly towards being a Norris finalist again imo if he keeps this up all year he could be #3 instead of the #5ish I'd have him at right now (Karlsson, Burns, Hedman, Suter).

And 9 of their last 10 were on the road, just not as gnarly as the previous trips...going 6-4 is pretty darn good considering.

I tend to agree, but I get scared when the schedule gets softer

I love LaDue and this is no knock on him, but he looked pretty bad yesterday. Very out of sync. Sutter even game him powerplay time, and he was fumbling the puck on the blue line and couldn't control the play. He looked very confused out there. That said, this is to be expected out of a rookie. Forbort didn't look that great when he first cracked the NHL lineup.

Does anybody else feel the same about his play yesterday? Again, not a knock on this dude.

I thought he actually looked very good except for the power play you're mentioning but EVERYONE was a cluster **** on that one, no one wanted to take control of the puck, and his partner was Marty. My biggest issue with LaDue in general is he looks up ice to move forward quickly instead of looking for possession; I know that doesn't sound like a 'bad' thing but while his passes are completing he's forcing plays into the trap/a checker. But he does have good vision and good puck control/escapability and he looks like he's gonna be a player sooner rather than later. Like I said and got eviscerated for, right now, he's Jamie McBain with a higher ceiling. His assist was very nice and what we often want Drew to do, shake his checker at the point enough to get a puck through.

We don't lose much to the Panthers so when we do it's usually cause for some kind of a meltdown on the boards. lol We've won 14 of the last 16 meetings or something?
