Has Semien ever played 3B?

Not since his first couple years in the league when he was with the White Sox. About 400 innings where most defensive metrics say he wasn't very good. But honestly he's a good shortstop now with a solid arm, so he can't be any more limited at the position than Biggio is.

Problem is that he signed with the Jays explicitly because they let him choose to play 2B. Unless he's willing to take one for the team at this point (which is a little sketchy given that he's on a 1-year deal) I wouldn't expect him to bend on that choice.

Honestly at this point they can switch Biggio and Vlad in the infield and it probably wouldn't make much of a difference. I wouldn't want any position changes to eff with Vladdy's hitting though

Exactly let him stay at 1B cause you don't want fielding errors to affect his AB or mental part of the game. He starting to look comfortable at 1B

Last year, in 60 games, seven different players hit at least 11 balls at 110+ mph, including Vlad and Teoscar. Sano lead the way with 15.

In the first 13 games of the season, Vlad has already done it 11 times.

Eight early moves front offices should weigh, from dueling Kris Bryant trade deals to a Juan Soto mega-extension

Trades I’d like to see happen now
Blue Jays deal Randal Grichuk and Alejandro Kirk to Marlins for Pablo López

Pablo López, 25, went 6-4 last year with a 3.61 ERA and a 3.09 FIP. He really knows how to pitch. He has averaged 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings and 2.8 walks per nine since the start of 2020. López’s fastball is mostly 92 to 94 mph, and he throws an above-average change-up, his best secondary pitch. His four-pitch mix also includes a curveball and a cutter.

Any of you folks take my advice in the pre-season and sprinkle a few coins on Ohtani to win MVP at 33:1 odds, or Discoverer's suggestion to sprinkle a little on Vladdy at 25:1?

Ohtani down to 9:1 now - probably no value left there, but Vlad is still 20:1 which imo is still a bit of a bargain.

I see they've still got that stupid double header rule. I guess we benefit this time since we basically don't have any of our good bullpen left. Who is even our "closer" right now? Borucki? Phelps?

What site do you use?

Lopez isn’t a bad arm. I would maybe consider Jansen for him but not Kirk. If they want Kirk then I’m asking for Sixto Sanchez.

I’m fine grabbing a Gausman type as a rental.

Ryu
Gausman
Ray
Matz
Pearson

Looks good to me.

Have $50M+ coming off the books. Go grab a Scherzer, Syndergaard or Grienke with that money and maybe a 1 of Ray, Gausman or Matz.

Scherzer
Ryu
Pearson
Gausman/Ray/Matz
Manoah/SWR/Kay

Got to think it’s Dolis. Castro has good stuff he might be a dark horse later on in the season if he gets more opportunities.

You can’t give out good advice for free. You have to charge people.

But what about Jansen's big breakout year? ;)

If we didn’t have Kirk and Moreno who have higher ceilings, I’m holding Jansen.

But if he can net you something of value, I got no problem moving him. Unless Jansen tears the cover off the ball, I can’t see him being a better catcher than Kirk imo.
