Unless he gets arrested for another stupid incident. < --- what i meant by "he probably wont be in the nhl in a year or two. Guy has no brains off the ice.

He could do something else very stupid, and as long as there was no interruption to his hockey (aka didn't go to jail) he'll still get a contract. Someone will give him one more chance.

They just traded subban because of off ice issues

I doubt that very much. They may have had buyer's remorse at the idea of paying him $9M over so long a term and with an NTC kicking in, they explored a way out.

If "off ice issues" were really a factor, how come they signed a head case like Radulov shortly after Subban was traded.

Because it's a 1 year deal and he brings our n.1 need?

When you can replace a #1 defensemen who donates millions of dollars to hospitals with a borderline/middling top-six forward with a record of harassment and maybe even abuse, you have to do it!

Why do people mention Subban's donations???? It has nothing to do with playing ability

Hardly...:shakehead

Personality issues, maybe, but not off ice issues...Subban visits the childrens hospital on a weekly basis, Kane not so much...big differences here, big...

Well either way Kane's got both. But I was classify personality as off ice issues especially since it was apperently in the locker room where he was the problem

The difference between Patrick and Evander at this point is 49 points between career years. Which, funny enough, is more points than what Evander has put up any other year.

So it's perfectly valid to say that Patrick is the only Kane one would want on their team.

11/12 Season Evander put up 57 pts in 74 games.

Zero chance habs take a flyer on the guy. But with his value this low, it wouldn't cost much at all, Buffalo is probably hoping someone takes him off their hands.

Alexei Emelin and a 2nd round pick

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Kane - Plekanec - Gallagher
Shaw - Danault - Andrighetto
Carr - Mitchell - Farnham/Byron

DD and a 2nd rd pick or like you said Emelin and a 2nd round pick.
I would do that.Kane would add a lot of toughness and enough skill to handle 2nd line duties.

I used to like EK9 but once he got his $$ with the Jets - that took over his life. I would stay as far away from as possible. You do not want him on your team.

If Kane is getting traded any where its Vancouver. His home town it only makes sense, no one else wants him anyway.

Right...?

57 points is 49 less than 106.

49 is also more than Evander has scored in "any other year". Meaning any year other than his career year which was 49 lower than Patrick's. Nothing the poster said was wrong. Read better.

Lol, so you want to take Evander Kane to an even bigger party city that had the infamous group of O'Byrne, Price, Higgins, etc split up a while back? Montreal would be toxic for Kane, there's no strong leadership there that could guide this kid, well he's not even a kid anymore.

He needs to be on a more veteran team, a team that has some strong leaders on it that won't deal with his crap.

74 games must be career year too

So lets recap

Overpaid, fragile, immature, disrespectful, unreliable and now arrested

Sure sign me up :sarcasm:

Will be fitting when he's playing for Vegas next year, probably won't even finish the season there

Was a big fan when he made the World Juniors as a late addition and played his way up from the 13th forward to be one of their best players but the guy simply can't handle being a pro. Change of scenery woke Seguin up, was hoping the same would happen to Evander but doesn't look to be happening

Change of scenery and surrounding him with a lot of babysitters is what fixed Seguin, probably an amazing PR team too, I've heard enough stories from friends that played with him in Juniors and the NHL to know and I won't slander him any to get banned. But for Evander Kane, he literally needs a Gary Roberts type of guy that will smack him in the mouth if he even thinks something stupid.

Kane is talented, very talented and it shows in his game. But even if his Hockey IQ is there, the rest of his personality leaves a ton to be desired. Even as a Penguins fan, I would not want this guy near the team at all, I can't imagine one of the younger guys hanging out with him and it ending well.
