You mean the guy that assaulted a cab driver and just finished up being investigated for rape? Nice.

So your citing a drunken incident almost 7 years ago, that the cab driver himself admitted was overblown, when he was a college age kid (20 at the time) and an unfounded accusation that the DA threw out as a reason you wouldn't want the Hart trophy winner on your team? And this is coming from a fan of a team that employs Evander Kane and ROR? Give me a ****ing break

I'd rather keep Desharnais for one more year than take on Kane.

As much of a cancer and fool that Kane is if I was MB I trade Diamond Dave in a heartbeat if I can land Kane if the plus is minimal.

I always find it funny that people jump on Evander and say things like "I don't want that cancer anywhere near my team". Yet give a free pass to a guy like Patrick Kane (who has been involved in more egregious off ice ****).

Could it be that these off ice issues that people get bent out of shape and loose their minds over aren't really all that they're cracked up to be? I mean if you watched the Sabres you'd notice that O'Reilly's off ice issue haven't really affected his play in anyway or the rest of the team. And it doesn't seem that the issues P. Kane has gotten himself into have affected his ability to be on contending teams and winning a scoring title. Doesn't seem like the team has suffered from the sideshow that was last off season either.

Missing team practice for an all star game? Sure not a good move. But if the Blackhawks can look past the whole circus and distraction that P. Kane inadvertently put them through, then I think the issue that is unfolding right now (which likely won't amount to anything) is something E. Kane's teammates can look past. Tim Murray is a different story though.

I guess if Evander had more talent, people wouldn't be giving quite as much of a **** about this.

They shipped out PK for having a personality not sure they would welcome a criminal.

When was he declared a criminal? He has had 1 arrest stemming from some altercation at a bar he's was being paid to be at. He was arrested for trespassing, the owner of the premises has said he was not tresspassing so I wonder how that charge will turn out. Kane's value is low because he put his hands on 2 women which is unacceptable, but no one has the full story or knows the circumstances. So maybe we should stop acting like he's some hardened gangbanger, there are plenty of players with actual criminal records for you to call a criminal.

Kane's value is low because he embarrassed the team while the league was in town. As someone else has said P. Kane punched a cabbie, Voynov beat his wife, but E. Kane is the one who everyone wants to call a criminal, it's a joke. He's an immature idiot who makes bad decisions on and off the ice, that's why his value is low, and it's far from nothing.

Uh, Patrick Kane is a criminal too, he's just a significantly better player than Evander so he gets more leeway.

And last I looked Voynov is also a criminal, and is not playing in the NHL anymore, largely because of the domestic violence incident.

All three of them are idiots.

Yes, they absolutely are, but E. Kane is not a criminal, that brings very different connotations. He very well may be one day, but he's not today, and trying to act like Kane and ROR are some degenerates because of their run ins with the law that have am mounted to exactly nothing is a joke.

Being a criminal or not a criminal doesn't seem to matter much.

Assaulting a woman, or being convicted rather, seems to be the issue.

What did ROR do? He claimed all along he wasn't the one driving and the case was throw out in court. He has been nothing but a great leader in Buffalo. He literally stays after every single solitary practice to work on his game, and help other teammates work on their game. What he's done for Reinhart has been huge.

And Evander Kane's first incident in Buffalo was absolutely nothing. He was never charged or even accused of anything at all. And his new incident has 1 criminal charge - trespassing, which will end up being dropped. The bar owner has already said Kane was not trespassing.
Nobody talks about the good stuff E Kane has done for the Buffalo community though, like taking large groups of kids on all expenses paid shopping sprees and sending kids fighting cancer gifts etc.
People are acting like Kane killed someone. He's a young kid still. I got in worse trouble than him when I was his age, that's for sure. You grow up as you age, and E Kane will do the same. I don't think fans of other teams realize just how much he brought to the ice on a nightly basis for Buffalo. His teammates love him too. He's very well liked inside the locker room from everything I've read and heard.

It's useless, I still see the rape allegation brought up in E. Kane threads all the time even though there was never an allegation by anyone who actually had sex that night. The investigator in the case acknowledged Kane got caught in a loophole put there to protect victims afraid to come forward, it's a good protocol but there are bound to be unintended consequences.

Really? How many times had you been arrested by the age of 25? Apparently people are hard in Buffalo.

Any thread about Voynov was everybody and their mother slamming him, quit with the victim complex.

To play the devil's advocate, I'd like to listen to Kane's version of the incident. Crazy party girls can be full of half truths. It wouldn't be the first time a girl didn't tell the whole story.

If Montreal got rid of a player like Kassian I don't think they would ever take on a player like Kane and I'm ok with both haha

What does gender have to do with anything? People of all genders lie.

He has little to no value due to his off ice nonsense he continues to do. Don't understand why anyone would want him, my guess is he won't be playing in the NHL at all in a year or two. Guy refuses to grow up, so much talent thrown to waste because he's a complete idiot.

He has 2 years left on his contract, and then will be a 27 yr old UFA. Guaranteed someone offers him another NHL contract after that.

So you think he will be black balled from the NHL if he catches another weak charge?

He has been arrested a total of ONE time, and it is for a total BS trespassing charge that will end up being dropped (since the bar owner has already come out and said he was Not trespassing).

I highly doubt nobody would offer him a contract, even if he were arrested a 2nd time. He's a 20-30 goal scoring power forward who skates fast, works his a** off every single shift on the ice, fights, hits and has a great shot. There has never been one complaint about advancer Kane on the ice.

Unless he is actually charged and convicted of something serious (which has not been the case so far), he will get another shot somewhere in the NHL. Teams love power forwards too much for him not to.

And what about the criminal harassment charges that you are so convientely forgetting to mention?

They just traded OK because he has too much personality for them, do you really think they would make a move for Kane?
