He's now 5th all-time for points by a defenseman in a single playoff run. He has a legit shot at making it to 2nd all-time. Coffey's record is going to be tough to beat.

1. Coffey: 37 points
2. Leetch: 34 points
3. MacInnis: 31 points
4. Makar: 29 points
5. Bouchard: 27 points
3 pts away from the Bouchard > Makar narrrative!

Actually I’ll probably leave that one alone. In time though, in time.

His shot will be much needed in a series like this. Whether it's scoring, setting up rebounds or hobbling shot blockers. When there isn't a lot of space out there point shots and going to the net is never a bad idea

His mission in the first game should be to aim 5 shots straight at Forsling

Some dips are totally celebrating his mistakes, seems stupid
Na bro. We’re in the Stanley cup finals, we’re so close and he’s just not good enough.

Sorry to keep harping on the guy, but it was just an awful showing tonight.

I am just frustrated we’re down 2-0. We worked so hard to get here. Ekholm and Henrique talked about how important a good start is in the cup finals and here we are.

I know it’s not all Bouchard fault. I’m just gutted from this loss.

Bouchard's been the least of our worries.

But you only like to focus on him instead of the other stars that are complete no shows.

Deep down you're happy jumping with joy patting yourself on the back, and its hilarious.

Literally no one cares about your opinion on Bouchard, because even when you're wrong (which is all the time) you just move the premise of your argument.

Expect some ppl will be displeased with him. But we are now way overplaying him, and our horrid and embarrassing RHD depth of two 6/7 quality D as the next guys down from him makes him an automatic target for Florida to keep taking huge runs at him, which they are. This is going to be a painful series for Bouch. I hope he can power through.

Bouch is doing his best but he is literally our only RHD that can do something outside of PK at a NHL level and that’s a problem.

I am not celebrating them (and I never would) but those were bad mistakes.
He has to be much better in his own zone moving forward.
No one is arguing that, but it's also very apparent the point I'm making. It's like that GM guy who's over the moon his, now, Panthers have taken a 2-0 series lead.

Yet he's the one you immediately single out after a mistake.

Wrong all the time eh. Aren't you just a joy to talk to.

You just attack my posts. Bouchard was god awful last night. Paying him 10 million is going to be fun.

Sure Drai was awful also, but this is the Bouchard thread. The first two games of this series show you how far away he still is from becoming a number 1 guy.

I said ago ahead and rip me apart. He was passing the puck to the Panthers all night. He was awful.

And I do praise him when he's playing well.
He was overplayed and still came out the Oilers best D-man 5 on 5.

You say these things about praising him but you do so only as a way of pointing to something when people call you out on your negativity.

Your need to shit on this player literally every chance you get is approaching biblical proportions and it reeks of confirmation bias.

The fact that Bouch historically is one of the most criticised players on the team since he came in, and most people still find you extreme in your crusade against the player, is pretty telling.

People get sick of you instantly coming out of the woodwork every single time one of our best players who has been killing it all year makes a mistake.

No one is ripping you apart. Everyone is sick and tired of your shtick, though.

In no world was he our best 5 on 5 d man. Ekholm brought it last night.

Maybe my Shtick will be right on this player after all. Elite in the O zone while being average in the D Zone.

Bouchard's turnover was a key reason we lost. What else would you like me to say?

As usual you make this blanket statement without any evidence to support your position, as if you're some divine fountain of axioms for the rest of us to bask in.

Shot metrics, xG metrics including relative to competition he was our best guy despite munching 30+ minutes.

Your argument is "but the turnover on the second goal!". All players make mistakes, especially when overplayed. You only point it out when one player makes them, though.

Bad giveaway and a few bad breakdowns.

But man some ppl have blinders on beyond belief.

He hit a post and in a game where absolutely NOBODY was generating thru the neutral zone besides McD..anyone care to count how many side to side passes he made?

Some clueless wonders just love to highlight the mistakes and ignore the good things he does.

I counted atleast 6 plays where he single handily turned a neutral zone mastrrclass lockdown by FLA into a clean and controlled breakout.

If you're gonna talk about a players gamr atleast try and be honest instead of constantly cherry picking.

Dude he was turning it over all night, couldn't handle the forecheck, He needed to shoot more.

He may have been over played, but he also may have cost us the cup and our season.

I don't really care about analytics. He was bad

He’s played almost 60 more minutes than anyone on Florida and has the 2nd best goal differential in the playoffs.
Does he have some egg on his face for that game winning goal? Absolutely.
However mistakes like that often get made when your team is playing like crap.
Bouchard, like McDavid has brought far far more positives than negatives for this team and it’s unfair to put the blame on either.

You don’t care about analytics cause all they do is poke holes in your obviously biased opinion on the player.

He cost us a chance at the cup? What about the ghost of draisaitl.

Once again you’re pinning it all on one player because you don’t like him.

You’re not even an oiler fan so I’m confused why you’re here.
