Embarrassing really to lose 3-0 in Baku, more so with one more player for the majority of the second half. Sweden don't have a bad team on paper but the results are catastrophic, new coach can't come soon enough.

Yeah, it was quite an eventful match between Bulgaria and Hungary. First Bulgaia looked doomed in the first half when they had two players sent off within two minutes, but the latter sending off was cancelled after VAR check.

Then Bulgaria seemed certain to win right until the end of the match after their captain Desporov earned a PK, which he converted himself. But then Hungary snatched the point they needed with that 97th minute own goal.

Sweden…

Lindelof had a terrible first half, outmuscled from the ball in the first goal, and then making only half-hearted effort to prevent the pass which lead to 2nd goal scored against them.

They even let the 10-men Azeris score a late goal in the 2nd half, although Makhmudov lob from a halway line was a beauty, which caught Olsen too far from his goal-line.

While some of the groups are tight today is a good example of the negatives of this watered down qualifying + strong emphasis on NL results. Practically none of the games mean anything today other than seeding. Slovakia and Hungary with a result will qualify in two games they should win. Things get interesting tomorrow and Saturday

Well, Slovakia fall behind at home against Iceland in the 17th minute. Dubravka has had a poor startin the match. With Luxembourg leading, the group looks like getting a lot tighter at this moment.

Edit: Kucka header from a corner equalizes for Slovakia and at the same time Luxembourg is already 2-0 up after a PK.

Non consequencial game in Liechtenstein, ball in midfield, duel between Bruno and some semi-pro on his opponents, ball hits Bruno and goes out, he immediately starts asking for the free throw for his team... Great player, but so unlikeable.

Portugal held to a draw at half time in Vaduz lololol. But then you look they're starting Cristiano, Goncalo Ramos and Joao Felix in attack and it starts making sense.

Wrong sport. Throw-in is the correct term. Also, players always call for the throw-in for their team, no matter how clear it is that it won't be. It always been like that. It's the one thing they are openly trying to "steal" or cheat at, yet none of them has an issue with it.

We're talking about a game against semi-pro players here. Their highest rated player doesn't even have a club ...

Death, taxes, and Cristiano padding his stats against Liechtenstein.

It's ingrained in football players genes. It seems to be thing that's taught in kids as one of my former pick up footie groups had gone through the juniors in my home town teams, mentioned how TPS C-juniors were doing it against them in a game TPS won 11-3.

Slovakia qualify, in that group though Bosnia, Iceland and Luxembourg all are playoff bound. Bosnia know they will host their semifinal in Playoff B, Luxembourg will play away in Playoff C (likely one of Greece/Kazakhstan), too many factors to determine Iceland’s potential opponent as they can either go to A or B path for now

Montenegro beat Lithuania meaning they must beat Hungary and hope Serbia lost at home to Bulgaria. There is no playoff security for them

Big game between Poland and Czech Republic tonight. Poles need to win as this is their last game, Czechs are in a better spot with two games left but need a result of some sort to keep their fate in their own hands; a loss would seriously complicate the math.

I agree, I am a Man United supporter, and he annoys the hell out of me.

Also

Denmark are missing Eriksen, Kjær (who cares), Skov Olsen, and Højlund tonight. Don't mind it, gives room to try something else.
Altho, no ASO is going to make Denmark rely on too much play going up the middle.

Have a sneaky feeling Slovenia plays the game of their lives tonight, and destroys Denmark - Denmark are vulnerable, lacking confidence and calm.

3-0 Slovenia. f*** teams on paper at this point.

Hjulmand Raus.

Albania qualify despite conceding a late equalizer at Moldova, the result actually keeps Moldova very much alive though. Poland must beat the Czechs in the upcoming match, Czechs will qualify with a win. Moldova will need the Czechs to drop points then they can control their own destiny with a win in Czech Rep midweek

Obviously other than POL-CZE there are some other big games. Denmark host Slovenia in what's essentially a winner qualifies match. A draw wouldn't be the worst result for either team but would put some pressure on the final MD. Kazakhstan hoping for Slovenia to drop points, if thats the case they control their own destiny needing a win in Slovenia midweek. Italy host Macedonia in a game they likely need to win, if they do so they have some wiggle room in the final MD "away" at Ukraine only needing a draw to qualify. Regardless, Italy are 4 points away from qualification

Yeah, Italy with huge pressure on them to avoid another disaster campaign. I don't particularly care for this Italy team, but at least it would be nice to have the reigning champions in the final tournament.

Of course they could still make the finals even via playoffs.

It was funny looking at the Italian bench personnel during the national anthem, the shortest guy was something like 150 cm and the guy next to him must have been 200 cm.

Raspadori's 13th minute effort is ruled out for offside.

Few minutes later Darmian heads the ball in from a cross after a corner.

Jorginho still continues with his idiotic PK attempts, he hasn't scored for Italy in years. He should have been out of the squad long time ago.

At least Chiesa scores soon after to put Italy 2-0 up before half-time.

My nonna's corpse could have done a better job. I think it's the 3rd or 4th pk in a row he misses.

Chiesa with another fantastic goal!!!

See here’s the thing, they’ll blow out north Macedonia only to lose to Ukraine on the last match day
