Hmmm, he's a great 6 with technical abilities and power. Thus often plays 8 because he's very good at breaking lines and going forward. His long passing is exceptional as well.
Basically he can play 6, box to box, passing 8....

The talent France keeps producing is pretty amazing. Especially from that midfield.

But we haven't seen one like him. Probably ever.
I can't think of a thing he doesn't do well.
He tackles well, he passes well, he dribbles well, he has a booming shot and is not afraid to use it. His postionning is incredible for a 17 year old. He's also a natural leader, captaining the U21 NT.
If I had one thing that's not exceptional it's his speed. It's very good and not a drawback but not elite.
Rest pretty much is.

With Greizmann aging, I was worried that we had no one to fill his hole. Even though they do not play the same style, he will probably be a key cog of that midfield for over a decade.

Yup 15 years I guess.
I think he will win it all. I'd be disappointed if France doesn't win a WC and EC in the next 15 years given our quality.

He did get outmuscled and outplayed by freaking Loftus Cheek the other day so maybe it's best to temper those expectations.

If that's all you got from the game maybe you need to temper your evaluation skills.

Israel loses at Kosovo, they play the Swiss on Wednesday, probably need a result but the must win will be their match at Romania on Saturday. I would say anything less than 4 points and they are playoff bound

Then and there
Israel didn't have much going on offensivewise in the Kosovo match. Will Solomon be back for the other matches or does he miss all of them?

No idea why de la fuente keeps ignoring Pedro Porro, on a position where Spain is weak.

In quite a surreal situation, the Bulgarian FA actually requested UEFA to play their match against Hungary behind closed doors because they fear a fan protest might occur, and UEFA agreed. Originally the FA wanted to move the game out of Sofia but there was problems with moving to game to other venues because either they didn;t past UEFA standards or in the case of Plovdiv they didn't want the NT playing there :skeptic: Could set up a legal issue as well because Hungarian fans bought tickets to this match and now will need refunds for the numerous expenses they have

I swear Bulgaria exists in Europe for the sole purpose to make Romanians feel good about ourselves by comparison.

Israel get a late equalizer against the Swiss to keep their automatic chances in play however they will have to win in Romania. The Swiss need to wait few more days for their spot but it’s been a rough campaign for them and in fact if they can’t beat Kosovo at home things might get dicey (Kosovo still has some small chances)

Regardless, Israel are guaranteed a playoff spot. That’s bad news for Norway who need Israel to qualify directly, quite funny because Fox Sports here in the US is still using Haaland as one of the stars to promote this tournament next summer

While some of the groups are tight today is a good example of the negatives of this watered down qualifying + strong emphasis on NL results. Practically none of the games mean anything today other than seeding. Slovakia and Hungary with a result will qualify in two games they should win. Things get interesting tomorrow and Saturday

Then and there
Kvaratskhelia with his 2nd goal against Scotland. First was a well-timed courageous move to slide the ball in ahead of defender Porteaus, and the 2nd nice low shot in after deking a Scottish player in front of him.

Spain is also well in control of their match against Cyprus, after maintaining the 3-0 half-time lead. Yamal scored a the first goal, after patiently waiting with the ball to find a good opening appearing amongst the Cypriots in front of him before putting the ball into net.

Hungary qualify after a 97th minute equalizer in Bulgaria but because they only got a draw their chances at Pot 1 for the main draw are pretty much gone. Spain on pace to win their group and secure Pot 1 as long as they beat Georgia at home in the final match. Sweden continues to struggle (they were already eliminated) losing 3:0 in Baku. Austria temporarily jumps ahead of Belgium but their campaign ended today, Belgium with a win will top the group

Later today, Montenegro must beat Lithuania at home to remain alive but with Hungary's draw they will need to win both remaining fixtures and hope Serbia slip up. Slovakia only need a point at home to Iceland to qualify
