Is this the team first in the east? I almost feel bad for them. Erie came to play and it’s nice to see the lines connecting.

…And Schaefer an incredible night.
Being out with mono didn’t seem to drag his development like some suggested. He’s putting in the work and really showing why he’s getting drafted.

I want to know what his TOI was for last weekend when he was consistently double shifted.

For most of the first period and at least half of the second period it seemed like Schaefer was on the ice for every defensive and offensive zone face-off.

Do you guys still wear the yellow/gold jerseys with the words Erie Otters on the front or just the yellow/gold jerseys with Erie and the picture of the otter on the front?

They haven’t worn the script Otter for a few years now. Disappointing if you ask me but I’m sure it will circulate back one day.. or at least I hope

He’s been at another level since the beginning of last year‘s playoffs. Followed by the U18’s. Followed by a few games this year, especially last night’s. Mono? What mono?

We are just two completely different teams between Burns and Erliden. The poor kid hasn't faced that many shots, our team in front is playing to help him out as much as possible and he still let's 2 in on 6 shots. We need a BUG badly.

I typed that out and it is now 3 goals in 8 shots...

I wonder what the cost would be to get a Carter George from OS.

I don't know, but they have 0 confidence in him. He did get pulled but we need a new BUG. Burns is not gonna last and we can't afford to run Erlinden 3 in 3 or even 2.5 in 3 every time one comes up.

Yeah this has to be dealt with sooner than later. Frustrating because you have to play Burns to give Erliden a rest but you can’t play Burns against top teams (or you should just forfeit). However, play him against lesser teams and you are losing games you should win / need to climb in the standings. Such a horrible spot. This needs to be fixed before the holidays, and ideally before the end of the month. Don’t care how they do it but they need to get another body in there to take a shot with because this experiment is not working

I don’t think George is the right target. He’d cost too much (think Henry or even Spence) and Erie doesn’t need him in the first place. They just need a guy who’s better than Burns.

I think they’d want somebody who’s either an ‘05 or an ‘06 and who isn’t his team’s clear cut #1. I’m not up on the league’s goalies, but maybe Leenders? Vaccari?

This. They don't need two #1's. George is a #1, Erliden is a #1. They need a legit backup who gives them a chance to win against weaker teams on Erliden's night off. Gibson wasn't that. Burns isn't that. I feel like the org was blinded by the 1 outstanding performance by Burns in his debut against London last year. His success in Jr B clearly doesn't translate to the same results in the O.

Not sure if this trade would ever happen and the cost would be high being within your division. But Jackson Parsons of Kitchener is probably available in their rebuilding yr. He's an OA and probably would want to be the number one goalkeeper. The other issue is this trade could have happened back in Sept but with how the Rangers are playing now he may not be available. If the Rangers do slide then maybe????

Thanks all,

And yes, I'd have to agree. We need a solid 1B goalie. They brought over Erlinden for a reason and if we are trying to upgrade someone with a .924 save percentage, it's not in the wheelhouse.

They need a solid backup, they can MAYBE develop with at least I would think .885 save percentage, if not a little higher. Someone who we have confidence in to win the games we SHOULD win. And no offense to Guelph, but they are one of those teams this year and we got it handed to is.

I don't think they will look to bring in anyone who wants to be a starter. They have their guy in Erliden.
