Like I said each Oshawa line really takes the body and plays physical. Hunter smith is 6ft 5 on one line . McCarron is 6ft 5 as well. Josh brown big physical defenseman at 6ft 5 as well. Most of the other forwards are at least 6 ft as well. We lost Will Petchning for series and prob season due to a broken arm in the last series and he is a physical 6 ft plus defenseman as well.

I don't think that is Erie's game at all and the Generals play hard on the puck crash and bang style . We don't have as many scorers as Erie but you have to be aware of dalcolle, cassels, mistele, lindberg,McCarron plus vande sompel on the point.

Not Erie's preferred game but in the playoffs they have shown flexibility in all 3 rounds they have played. This past series against Soo it was shut down the middle of the ice and grind out the win. Macdermid, Genovese, Raddysh at the point all throw the body. Dermott, Donnay, and Murphy are big enough to do it and certainly absorb it.
Big Betz up front and Elie who hits a lot for being more of an offensive player.

Erie obviously would prefer to play a more open styled game with their speed and talented forwards but I think they are big and tough enough to play physical. They have shown the ability to do that over the course of the playoffs

the coaching staff has a great handle on the pulse of this team and and will change the lines and style of play to suite the actions of Gens.

Depending on the length of this series i may have two club level seats to sell as we leave for vacation at mid night on the 15th so Sunday's game tickets will be be for sale if they play ....
willing to sell at face value
will re post as the date comes closer

I don't think the last change is that big of a deal. They stole a game in SSM without it, no doubt they can do the same to Oshawa. I wouldn't be to cocky going into this series... Erie is only getting stronger.

Gensfan2k2:can't honestly say I've heard someone say that all season long..while I'm new to the board here,I can't recall any of the last 2 seasons of 70 plus games I've gone to that that has been an issue..
Def OSH has some size on their side, and def are a talented team to say the least, but the 3 guys we're getting back that we've played WITHOUT the last 8, 10 and 10 plus games are somewhere in the 6ft5.6ft3, and 6 ft 2 range...

Keep in mind we just completed a series with the number one OHL team, think they were the number one CHL team and also that team was picked to win it all..

So while I'm sure you will be unimpressed with our blue-collar town on a Tues night compared to your Fri and Sat night games that's ok...

Just don't get caught buying a McDavid t shirt on your way out:D.. Just kidding its gonna be a great series.

Just to respond to a previous post. The soo was named top team in the CHL for the last week of the rankings. Oshawa was number one from end of November until second last week of season so they are somewhat pretty good. The media and many posters don't seem to give any respect to that fact. Sportsnet didn't show the generals on tv all season until the first round of the playoffs. I know Erie is really good and I know mcdavid is a superstar so I guess this series will be over in four as the generals have no chance.

Yes you didn't have mcdavid for our first two games but we didn't have cassels, mdc for one, mistele, pederson, mermis,McCarron. I think this will be great series but don't think the Oshawa generals will be walked over like some think. They also had a 18-1-1 record against the west this year.

Gensfan, I didn't see anyone in the previous posts being cocky. At least not posters from Erie. All that was said was that Erie was able to defeat a very good team, and no one gave them a chance. I saw Oshawa play the Otters, and you have a terrific team. In fact, I think they will prevail in this series. Erie will give them a tussle, but they may be worn out after the SSM series. Ottergolfer, are you kidding me? Sell the tickets for the cruise or hotel. I am going to camp next Tuesday with my friends, but I am coming back from Wednesday anyway to go to the game. Then I will return to camp. I wouldn't miss this for anything!

This will absolutely be a great series since we were without quite a few players BOTH times we played Oshawa.

The OHL website has reported that Mcdavid is currently 6th in playoff points all time. He only needs one point to move ahead of Cory Pecker for the lead all time for Otters players. Anyone have a list of playoff point leaders?

Sorry otters fans no disrespect intended. Some posters on various sites give the generals no shot and all everyone has talked about are the soo and understandably the mcdavid otters. As a hockey fan I can see this going 6 or 7 games and would love the generals to win but wouldn't be shocked if Erie won either . I guess what I'm saying is the generals have been overlooked for various reasons all year by media and many fans. To the papers and social media oshawa will be the underdog and I guess that suits them fine. I hope to get down to Erie for at least one game. Everyone does rave about the city and atmosphere at the games. Looking forward to the games.

G Mitchell Gibson (2015 9th round) got drafted by Sioux Falls in round 6 of the USHL draft yesterday, and RW Tyler Gratton (2015 10th round) got drafted by Chicago in round 3 (both are American).

Good news is that Brett Neumann did not get picked, so unless he plans on going OJHL and then NCAA, I think there is a good chance he signs with Erie.

Any news from Erie as far as lines outside to buy tickets? Do you think it will be a quick sell out for both games?

The Niagara ice Dogs shut down Mc David twice I see the Gens shutting him down too the Gens are a big team that will wear down the Otters like they did against the Ice Dogs.

Yeah, that probably explains why Oshawa has been ranked number one in the CHL for pretty much the entire year ........

Gensfan2k2...I know I had a smiley face and a just kidding in my post (about buying a McDavid shirt)and mentioned a very talented OSH team..!!

Just wanted to clarify that.. We're not cocky ( 99.99 % of us that is) and just happy to be invited to the "DANCE"..

If I see you out I will buy ya an ice cold PEPSI..;)

We will assume the underdog status as the # 2 seed vs your # 1 seed..Peace..

Generals are obviously a very good team. However I'll believe McDavid is shut down when he is shut down.

I don't think the Gens plan to 'shut down' McDavid. I think they plan on trying to contain McDavid and recognize he will put up points against you. Key is trying to limit those points and take advantage of the 3rd and 4th line matchups as the Gens can really roll four lines. I just hope our D can stand up. I haven't been overly impressed with anyone outside of the top pairing of Brown and Mermis.

Couple of thoughts as a fairly new member:

Another great reason why hockey is so awesome, even though all of us are passionate, the majority of conversations I have seen on here from opposing fans have been within the confines of civility, unlike other sites out there. Hats off to fans of the best sport out there.

I agree that most Erie fans are far from cocky and most were very skeptical about this team in the last half of the season. If you would have said we would be where we are I would have been in-line behind the other doubting Thomas types.

Like some from Erie have already said, Erie went through some very lean years to get to this point and it's pretty cool to see the atmosphere this season in general and especially the last two series.

From a personal standpoint I would only attend a few Otters games a year until the NHL lockout a few years back. This was one of the best things that ever happened because not only did we focus more on the home town, we also became involved with the organization and have been able to get to know most of these kids by billeting the past 3 years.

Without question I am biased because of how close I am with everything, but these kids have something special. The egos are not there like they may have been in the past......they play as a team and are whole-heartedly buying into what the coach is doing. I have never seen smiles as big as this past Saturday on the faces of these great kids....truly something special to have witnessed.

The Otters have an uphill battle for sure as the Generals weren't No 1 most of the year for some invalid reason. In the end, regardless of outcome, I am extremely proud of the way these kids have played and conducted themselves. Gonna be a great series! See you Saturday!

Well well well…….here we go boys & girls
Erie for some many years has been laughed at from all in the OHL
Oshawa has been hovering in mediocracy for a decade

So I totally understand the fans & season ticket holders in Erie for going nuts this year and saying “STICK IT†to the knights/soo lol good on you go for it as you deserve it.
Oshawa has been building for this for a few years since DJ Smith came on board.

I believe this will be a crap shoot as you can’t judge either team on the 2 games they played. The stats are the stats.
This will come down to
Emotions
Bounces
Ability of guys to “take one for the teamâ€

All I know is I will hopefully enjoy 2 things great hockey & a great atmosphere at the GMC!
Good Luck to both teams!

I'm coming for game 4. Got tickets for section 103. Always like chatting with other teams fans.

I know they were ranked number one all year just meant you wouldn't know it watching sportsnet broadcasts or social media of some if these hockey experts in Toronto. I get the mcdavid hype but you would swear that the only teams that existed were Erie, soo and London as always. Looking forward to having the east represented. You know that inferior conference every year

Tickets went on sale in Erie at 10am, and as of 2:30 there are just over 1,300 left, mostly in the far corners (single attacking zone). Pretty good so far for ticket sales, as often it's not until the day before or day of we get down to the last 1000 in the playoffs (other than Game 6).

Ironically, there are less seats available for Game 4 as of now, just a tad over 1,000 left.

That's surprising. Gens sold out Game's 1 and 2 in 25 minutes.

Erie has more tickets to sell and is not as powerful a hockey market that Oshawa is.
