Just because it happened doesn't make it right.

To punish innocent hard working athletes for the actions of their politicians is asinine. The whole guilt by association thing is even less relevant considering the only "association" per se is their country of birth.

I mean what a thing to tell a kid. Hey I know you've trained your ass off to get to the NHL and have no involvement in a war or politics, but because the leader of your nation did you're disqualified.

The acceptance of prejudice occurring is wild considering it's 2024. And so many Americans and Canadians like to pride themselves on being "progressive" yet they are demonizing people for where they were born. I can't understand how one can rationalize that.

Precluding Russia from this upcoming nations tournament makes the tournament invalid and punishes players like Vasy, Sorokin, Kucherov, Panarin, Kaprizov and many others for nothing.
Very well said!!

Man you are such a homer that your last name must be Simpson.

Faber is the type of guy you want in the playoffs.....you know to win games.

It's amazing going through how much you prefer every Habs prospect must be time to plan the parade eh?

I prefer Hutson over Faber, that's for sure

Hutson has a lot of skill, but this is blasphemy, make a main board poll and see how bad it is.

Let's do a poll at the end of the Season

Hutson as no real numbers to show, he's still just a rookie
But at this point in time, Hutson is kicking ass

Why? I'm a Habs fan and love Hutson, but Faber is among the best complete d in the world and can play 25 mins per game while shutting down the opponent top line. What is your argument in favor of Hutson?

Sports per se are literally unimportant compared to war and geopolitics. Remember sport leagues, particularly in the West, are businesses through which billions of dollars flow. It is not unreasonable to deny access to those dollars as part of sanctions.

This is a nice sentiment but it's irrelevant and is straying far from the point, which is that at the time of the draft, there were significant questions about the future of Russian players in sports leagues across the world, and they remain banned in some.

i just want to point out that he scores so much not because he got benched, he rather scores despite tortelini trying to ruin him - get that coach out there as fast as possible
In all fairness, Torts is one of the very few coaches in the league who can provide results even with weak rosters which he’s proven on multiple occasions, but that requires his players to play a certain system and it’s tough for younger players

Michkov already has the media working for him. It's going to take a lot to not give it to him. The calder is inherently a forward award, but I will say a rookie dman hitting 50 points is a lot rarer than a 70-80 point forward. Hutson is second in rookie scoring as a dman.

But last year Faber cleared Bedard's season and didn't win it.

Hutson's pacing to be the highest scoring rookie dman since Lidstrom. Only 18 rookie d have hit 50 in league history. 21 forwards have broken 82 and quite a few more by pace considering seasons weren't always 82 long.

Anyways, it's not anywhere near as one-sided as HF makes it seem when historically what Hutson is doing is more impressive. Especially considering he hasn't had any "pop-off" games yet and just got put on PP1 a game or two ago, he's just consistently grabbing a point in most Habs games.

Stankoven 7 shots last night. Still my dog in the race

Stankoven's inability to finish right now is quickly removing himself from this race. That and Michkov and Celebrini finishing everything right now

At least he's with Duchene and Marchment now so the chances will come more regularly. His previous line was horrible. Imo the only chance he had at winning the Calder either way was by outscoring everybody else by 10-20 points which definitely isn't gonna happen.
