As Logan Roy said of his children in Succession, can be said of the Leafs organization: "you are not serious people."

I don't know the thing you're referencing but yes many of them don't seem serious about team goals. How can a team serious about winning in the playoffs go 1-5 at home in front of a fawning audience with all of the competitive advantages that home ice offers?

Morgan Rielly seems serious. John Tavares seems somewhat serious. Matthews and Marner still just seem like big kids out having a little bit of fun. Jason Spezza always seemed to just be a big kid and he is now an executive in training. Dubas and Keefe seem over emotional. The team in general over celebrates minor regular season accomplishments.

Not hiring Cassidy last summer when he was available was a huge mistake. Even Jim Montgomery (who was also available) pretty much said that he mostly kept Cassidy's system in tact in Boston.
That's incorrect. Bruins have a more free flowing system now versus defensive with Cassidy. Cassidy wouldn't allow for pinching as much as Montgomery.

That's one quarrel I have with Keefe. He let McCabe pinch way too much.

Now that the bitter bitter disappointment has dissipated a bit, there should be no "blowing it up". Continue on and learn from all the years of failure. How many years was Yzerman in the league before he won a cup 12? 13? Same like Ovechkin. We follow the advice of the loser sports media in Toronto and blow it up now, we're looking at perpetual no hope mediocrity. I know everyone is pissed but you make your stupidest decisions when you're angry. That's true in life and true in hockey
Ovie signed on for, what, 13 years to be a willing lifer at Washington. Matthews? Dubas gave him max $ and minimum term, 5 years. Big diff in star commitment that an organization can count on.

Where’s this Shanny is gone but Dubie stays stuff originating, because that makes absolutely zero sense to me?

Also if Keefe is coming back I officially give up on this team.

The idea of promoting a guy who has had carte blanche to make every move for the last 5 years seems insane. I think that idea is coming from some of the media members that will lose some inside access with dubas gone

Another lack of killer instinct and believe the core comments. What's more new about it?

Stars don't want to be here and took less term to try to get a better raise the next negotiation. They just want money.

With playoffs still going on, I don't think they would wanna make the Headlines, so it most likely be a low-key Q & A's session with a lot of pending future evaluation bs replies imo.

-We're obviously disappointed in the outcome - we thought we had a Stanley Cup capable team. That being said, we're still very happy with how this group competed all year.
-With a salary cap, no matter what success your team has - there is always changes. The lockerroom has made it very clear that they want to win with this group.
-We share the frustration with the fans, and know the biggest priority is preparing this team for deep playoff success.

I can only guess.

blah blah blah - took Ovechkin 13 years to win a cup. All you experts like to bottom line shit when it comes to dumping on the Leafs, but suddenly want to become nuanced when shown simple facts on why one must be patient in order to experience great things.
The year before Ovy wins the cup - he has 8 points in 13 games in the PO (5g 3a), so had you been on hfboards back in 2017, you would be saying how Washington needs to dump Ovy, right?

Add in that we have some key decisions to make and will speak with out pending FAs, then some non commital speak about wanting key players like Matthews here for his career and I think youve covered it.

It would be hilarious is if there were audible moans and chuckling if they attempt to pull more of their patented spinning/framing crap.

To be honest I only watched 2 playoff games.

There's a lot fun amazing things to do in the spring that are not watching TOR edging towards their early locker clean out.
