The Bulls pretty much hated each other and it didn't hurt them. In fact, more likely the opposite.

Guys who don't like each other don't hesitate to call each other out and they are more likely to respond to it, even if only to show up the other guy. "Buddies" get together at Tavares' cottage in the summer to politely discuss how they could be better while jet skiing and enjoyed a catered dinner.

I'd suggest the Leafs care less about having all their besties around and focus more on pushing each other to win a ***** Cup before their careers are over. That would start with bringing in a tough, respected leader and slapping the "C" on his chest. Of course with this organization that's a fairy tale, just like a parade on Bay Street.

Quite similar with the Lakers (Kobe & Shaq)....i understand you want chemistry in the group, but the focus should be on winning and competing.

I honestly think Shanny needs to get Mitch, Auston, and Willy in a room and tell them that if they want this thing to continue in some form the next contracts can't be about them maximizing the money they will make. Like if they are serious about not liking this feeling then all 3 of them should be ready to jump on a market comparable(or less) contract. Especially since they all got great raises coming off entry level. It is easy to say you have had enough of losing, time to actually show it. If they still want to break the market rate? Well this thing won't continue on.

I honestly think Shanny needs to get Mitch, Auston, and Willy in a room and tell them that if they want this thing to continue in some form the next contracts can't be about them maximizing the money they will make. Like if they are serious about not liking this feeling then all 3 of them should be ready to jump on a market comparable(or less) contract. Especially since they all got great raises coming off entry level. It is easy to say you have had enough of losing, time to actually show it.

TBH...that'd probably backfire more than anything if they are going to ask for discounts and stuff. It's a cutthroat business, they will not care.

He touches all the points. Corsi shots and all, it's like a video game to him. He ticks all the boxes but the fraud is exposed when the going gets tough. When the hits are coming, he is getting rid of that puck in a hurry.

For some of these guys like Marner, a trade to another organization with a different level of expectations could be the best thing that could happen to them even though they can't imagine it. They'd probably mature as players and adults.

-take max dollars on a 5/6 yr deal
-when their back is against the wall the standard “we’re blocking out the outside noise”
-when eliminated “we have a lot of belief in there”

Marner really needs a coach. a PR coach of Some kind. Crosby and mcdavid doesn’t say these things
