Pacing for 20 on the fourth line. Only a rookie too there could be more.
I was potentially worried about IQ but he’s making smart plays and good passes all the time from what I seen. The most important thing I'm seeing out of Heineman is his ability to make the right play and execute it.
I love seeing a rookie winger head man the puck at the perfect time while keeping the pace up.
Most of our wingers don't even see the play to begin with.
Heineman is better with better players he just is.
He’d probably do well in place of Newhook at this point. I feel he’d be great for Dach and Laine, speed but also physicality and puck retrieval , I don’t get why he hasn’t gotten his audition yet, he’s been great.I was potentially worried about IQ but he’s making smart plays and good passes all the time from what I seen.
Great middle 6er. If we weren’t stacked at wing, he’d probably do well in a top 6 at some point
He's done quite well so far. Considering a few of us (myself included) were starting to have some doubts.6th in rookie points so far, not too shabby
I heard Marty talking about him as being in the perfect chair. He’d probably do well in place of Newhook at this point. I feel he’d be great for Dach and Laine, speed but also physicality and puck retrieval , I don’t get why he hasn’t gotten his audition yet, he’s been great.

How? Heineman has good wrist shot on pace for 20 goals. Playing 4th line minutes. He's 25 goal scorer playing in top six. Maybe 30 in his career year.Anderson is a closer comparison to Heineman than Lehkonen. Lehkonen was awesome defensively, and I'm not seeing that from Heineman right now.
I would continue playing him right where he is...he is developing against lesser players...his time will comeHow? Heineman has good wrist shot on pace for 20 goals. Playing 4th line minutes. He's 25 goal scorer playing in top six. Maybe 30 in his career year.
I mean Anderson paced for 25 goals a season in his first 3 years in MTL, so it does kind of fit the profile you described. How? Heineman has good wrist shot on pace for 20 goals. Playing 4th line minutes. He's 25 goal scorer playing in top six. Maybe 30 in his career year.
Newhook should move down, and have EH on with Dach and Laine. The boys can show Dach how to finish!!I think, it's time to move him up a notch.
I don't.His strength and speed impress me but what really sticks out is how hard he works and how smart he is on the ice.
People fail to remember that he only played 59 AHL games and scored 22 goals.
I see vision in Heineman's game Anderson will never have.I mean Anderson paced for 25 goals a season in his first 3 years in MTL, so it does kind of fit the profile you described.
Shows you how volatile young players careers can be early on.Only 4 points behind Calder "Favorite" Stankoven
I saw Stankoven strugglin a mile away he had too many flaws to not get exposed at some point but Wyatt I really don't understand. I'm one of those that would have bet big on him being over a PPG this year, he is still their most used FWD. Their PP isn't good enough and Bourque's transition from the AHL to NHL isn't good either so far. Maybe Seguin's injury is hurting them more than they would like.Shows you how volatile young players careers can be early on.
Everyone was on the Stankoven train heading into this season.
Wyatt Johnston was another Stars young player that people thought was ready to explode.
Things haven't gone as smoothly for them this season.
I think the fact that we don't currently have a better center he can play with other than Suzuki can't be ignored.I would continue playing him right where he is...he is developing against lesser players...his time will come
I got a better one, trade Newhook for a proper gritty 4th liner and move Heineman with Dach-Laine.I saw Stankoven strugglin a mile away he had too many flaws to not get exposed at some point but Wyatt I really don't understand. I like what Heineman is doing with his TOI. I'd like to see what he could do with 13-14ish min instead of 9-10. As crazy as it's sound tho, you can't take time away from Anderson, Gally or Armia, they are all playing well. Only way I see it is to put Newhook on the bottom6 and Heineman with Dach-Laine
Who would you have in mind? Olivier?I got a better one, trade Newhook for a proper gritty 4th liner and move Heineman with Dach-Laine.
Sometimes there's no reasoning, progression isn't always an arrow that points up. That's why I reserve judgement on Dach or Newhook for example, it takes time to build consistency in your game.I saw Stankoven strugglin a mile away he had too many flaws to not get exposed at some point but Wyatt I really don't understand. I wouldn't change too much, I think Heineman is in the perfect spot right now. But that's a guy who next year and beyond will have a bigger role.I like what Heineman is doing with his TOI. Not until I hear Friedman say he only wants to play in Montreal.Who would you have in mind? Olivier?

I compare him to a younger version of Ivan BarbashevHeineman's job this year was to solidify a spot on the NHL team. He's done just that. Now he needs to continue to do it. If he keeps it up, at some point, he will move up the line-up. But right now, he's fine where he is.
What I've noticed with him lately is that he doesn't fall as much. Earlier in the year, he was still playing physical and laying body checks, but he would fall after those checks. He doesn't fall anymore. He's stronger on his skates.
