Tuch is going to be a solid bottom-6 player for years to come, that was a solid selection.

From what I can see, Luke Tuch is going to be an NHL player (8/10 prediction to be NHL player). Most likely a bottom 6 player. He's been compared to Shayne Corson minus offence.

Bergy was never able to figure out which drafts were strong and which were weak so we hoarded picks in bad years and traded them in good.
Except 2013 of course where he picked a bunch of grinders in a strong draft. At least we ended up with Lehkonen.

Heineman is producing and has a cannon of a shot and he would be a legit 30 goal threat if paired with a center like Suzuki.
He’s developing very well. I’ve noticed in the past few games that he’s been able to slow the play down a little and make a nice lateral pass. He was pure north/south before that. Good indication that the game is slowing down for him.

20-30 goal man that plays a physical game, a poor mans Pacioretty.
He's less of a perimeter player than Pacioretty. Althought, I guess he can still get "Charra-hit" like Pacio was and that can change.

As Erik cole's linemate, you kinda had to get your nose dirty for those loose pucks, because you knew exactly was cole was going to do coming down the wing lol.
He's also making some very nice touches in and around the net. More than I saw in Laval.
I just think he's showing a different side of his game with better line-mates he is seeing the plays which is critical for growth.

If Dach can get back to his old self, Heineman is another reason why that would be so important. Dach's almost a pure playmaker and Heineman sure can shoot.

A lot of people will never understand that what makes sense when selecting 18 year olds isn't always what looks best in hindsight.
I honestly can't tell if that's an IQ-related or ideology-related failure, but either way it seems like an extremely severe reasoning failure.

He was atrocious, lost. The only time he's looked good was for second half of a write off season in meaningless games playing with Suzuki, and now he's struggling with him too. Which is fine, he's only 20. I get it. All I said is as of right now, Heineman is better in every aspect, which is unlucky because most teams get an immediate star at first overall. We got a project. It's not even up for debate. You guys completely missed the point I was making because you're all over protective of a first overall pick who is underperforming and is soon to be making 7.6 million a year. I never said he couldn't turn it around.
Slafkovskys early career so far has been a tale of two completely different players, and he's looked lost far more than he's looked good.
Heineman IS playing against 3rd liners but he has looked good doing it. His shot is lethal and he's not afraid to use it whenever he gets a chance, he's hustling out there, fast, finishing every hit. His line eats huge minutes in the o-zone.
Slaf isn't using his shot, is slow, usually a step behind the play.
Unhinged is blindly disagreeing with someone because he was a first overall pick.
A poster stating we had a weak draft year to get the first overall pick when we clearly have a struggling "project" of a prospect while other teams get star / even franchise players is unhinged to you? Lol ok.
Or a poster simply pointing out another prospect has a more complete game right now? Whatever. I never said Heineman was going to have a better career. I said right now, Heineman is the more complete overall player, and that's the sad reality. Yes he's a few years older - I acknowledged that and said hopefully Slafkovsky can continue to develop into whatever it is you guys see in him. He is getting decent assist numbers this year which is good to see, but it doesn't tell the whole story. Compared to someone like Celebrini / Bedard / Hughes / Hischier / Matthews / McDavid / MacKinnons of the first over all category, we were unlucky. If I'm unhinged for seeing that, so be it lol.

you wrote 4 sentences, one of which was that Emil Heineman is better than Slafkovsky at all aspects of hockey, then got insulted when you got called out on it. if you had written the novella above to make your point initially, maybe your point would've been better received, even if it is still an insane evaluation of those two players

Heineman IS *currently* better in all aspects of hockey than Slaf right now. I said it *could* just be because he is a few years older and I hope that Slaf continues to develop. Right now he is a significantly worse skater, non existent shot threat, usually a step behind the play, less hustle and effort, more giveaways etc. I could go on. What's insane is turning a blind eye to it just because he is a big body and a shiny first pick. Slafkovsky is currently better on the power play and being fortunate enough to play it with Suzuki / Hutson / Laine, collecting secondary assists on Laine's perfect shot, and the occasional nice pass that leads to a 5 on 5 goal. That's about it at the moment.
You called it an "insane take" and tried to dismiss what Heineman is doing because it's vs 3rd and 4th liners. What did Slafkovsky do against them?
Guarantee if the roles were reversed and it was Heineman playing on the top line with Suzuki & Caufield and putting up points, you’d say it’s “only because he’s on the top line, Slaf is on the 4th line!”
