I feel like there are a lot of forwards on the roster that bring something to the table, but it's about finding them the right linemates to bring that out. It's a real puzzle.

- Heineman
- Newhook
- Anderson
- Dvo
- Armia
- and now Dach

Things would look a lot better if Dach were back to form. He was a playmaker and was being talked about as potentially challenging Suzuki for the 1c spot.

He's got PP two time for now so I'm all for letting him percolate.
If we lose a top winger though he should get the nod.

I'll go against the grain. I think Newhook has looked fine in the top-6 (the lack of assists is weird), but his role going forward is a 3rd liner in my opinion. He's in the wrong chair.

Heineman is in the right chair right now for where he is at in his career. If you bump him up to the top-6, he will look ok but not as good as he does in the 3rd line. He won't produce much and then people will whine he's in the wrong seat.

I agree with this. He's 6'2" and has strong skating and forechecking. He's got a Pacioretty shot as bonus. Also I think he's going to be a very good two way player. The Tyler Toffoli trade is working out well, if only Mesar can produce more. Heineman and Beck would be very good shutdown line.

Nope not as winger not a frickin' chance.
Newhook has absolutely nothing on Heineman as I posted earlier.
Given their NHL game experience Newhook should be much better in all aspects of the game and he just isn't.
I don't think anyone is ready to say Heineman is a top 6 player but right now on this team he is.
We should be developing him with better players NOW this season is a write off.

I have a strong Lehkonen vibe with Heineman. I'm really seeing what I was hoping for before his injury last year.

He may be a good physical 3rd liner with a really good shot now but could also be an excellent complementary winger on a solid 2nd line in 2 years? CC/Laine/Slaf-Demidov-Heineman? No rush but he's going to be an NHL player for sure, he's bringing something every presence.

This is a continued misclassification of Beck's potential. You don't want or project Beck to be on a shutdown line. Beck has excellent skating, good offensive vision and an elite shot. He's not leading Laval in points as a rookie because of his shutdown orientation. Beck's great skating and high compete level will always make him a defensively responsible player. But our hope should be that he takes the next developmental step into becoming a top 6 player. If Beck only tops out as being a shutdown style player, we should all be very, very disappointed.

Love this guy , he does alot of little things well , great on the forecheck and plays off his linemates , great spacing in the offensive zone at 5 on 5


I was always high on this guy as a future 3rd liner when you saw him in camp , I don't think his ceiling is super high but I love the energy he brings

Always better to wait the player to be 23 honestly. Heineman just turned 23 few weeks ago. Even 23 can still be risky. 24 usualy is where a player start to be as seen on TV.

I'd be very surprised if beck doesn't become at least as good as Plekanec.

He’s really developed a good work ethic and effort. He honestly didn’t have that night in and night out in Laval. Always used his great shot, but the physicality and forechecking weren’t there. Glad to see. He’s a very solid third liner imo, and could probably play on any line if needed.

Plekanec is underrated somehow by our fan base. He was a legit 1B for years and years. I don't think Beck has that upside but if he did our center woes would be solved.
