Isn't that guy, for sure. He is more a B-prospect. But the 1st pick is really good piece, can be a A-prospect if we draft well. (Look at Logan Mailloux, drafted at 31. Pastrnak at 25). 2022 is a really good depth draft.
How can you say that categorically before seeing if there is any chemistry between Heineman, Caufield and Suzuki?

Alex Burrows wasn't meant to play with the Sedin twins, yet he did for four years and performed admirably with them, 28, 35, 26 and 28 goals!

There is not much movement left now. We are finishing either 5th or 6th to last.

If Dach had played tonight we might have won. He could make a difference if he is put back in the lineup. So while we're looking good to finish behind Philly, we still need a few more games to go our way to look down 5th or 6th.

We could easily win 2 in a row with Dach, and Philly could easily lose 2 in a row. And then we'd be fight back in a fight for 6th overall with them.

I thought they were 5 pts away, but my point stands, missing the playoffs would be a disaster for them.

Yeah, except Winnipeg has been shit in the 2nd half. They lost to the Sharks last night.

Calgary is now only 2 points back, and has an easier schedule than Winnipeg. Nashville is only 3 points back of Jets with 2 games in hand.

Flames are definitely back in the playoff picture.

67 pts is fine, missing the playoffs, not so much. They acquired him to make the playoffs and reach the next level, what hasnt happened and there is no sign this franchise can turns things around in the off-season.
Not Toffoli's fault Gaudreau and Tkachuk left bud

I doubt they'd take Smith.. they have Keller and Cooley, they probably don't need a 3rd player of the same ilk.

They'd probably look at Reinbacher or Leonard, Benson, Moore, Dvorsky etc. someone with a bit of jam.
If someone take Barlow in the top 10, it’s them ( I actually hope)

Guy has an elite shot and is a pure sniper. That second goal is incredible, and I have a feeling he's going to be more than a 3rd liner.

Middle 6F who has great skating/size/shot power. I seen this a mile away when we traded Toffoli and we got to know more about Heineman.

Heineman was the prime piece and the Flames 1st was the 2nd piece added. Remember some fans saying Heineman was just an add on and he's nothing special.. traded twice now.

He has nhl level skills: shot, speed, agility, and aggressiveness.

What's left to see is if he has the IQ to keep up with the nhl pace. I'm really excited to see this guy in the lineup one day.

Agreed. It's tracking very well but it has layers to the development. Good start in Laval and we did get to see some of his potential in pre season games as well. Add Beck to that also.

So yeah, it comes down to his hockey IQ and how he can understand MSL instructions when he gets NHL games.

Habs fans have been sleeping on Heineman from the day of the trade. He was weirdly under the radar in his draft year and has continued to be ever since, considering his goal scoring pace in SWE-J20 was in an elite tier. What’s most exciting about him is that he was scoring around the same rate as guys like Kopitar and Öhgren, while playing an extremely physical, North American game. Said it from the beginning - he’s going to be a top-9 NHL forward.

Call me crazy but I do love the big boys that skate well and have NHL shots. Of course you need skilled guys like Caufield and Suzuki and Hutson is coming but this whole size don't matter any more narrative is just wrong.

It don’t matter to a certain point, but then you have to surround those elite ‘’smaller’’ talent with bigger guys. Skilled bigger guys.
