Looking forward to what he does tonight against the Leafs. I think he's scored in almost every game he's played so far.

dominate the league? I'd be happy just to see him get a bigger role, last year he was a 3rd and 4th liner if I'm not mistaken. I know the game I watched where he got the season ending concussion he was on the 3rd line. I know his SHL team this year returned 5 of their top 6 scorers from last season (Max Veronneau is AHL bound) but so far they have struggled to score in the 1st 3 games of the season, only team in the SHL with less then 6 goals for.
Given how bad they are, I highly doubt they'll let Heineman play in the AHL. He's probably SHL bound at this point.

Guy I’m most surprised by; love how he skates, shoots, looks big and strong… I hope he and Xhekaj make it. MSL sure seems to like his game so far the way he talked about him at the presser.

Did any reporter ask why Heineman was not playing yesterday even though he didn't play in the Red vs. White scrimmage?
That’s an excellent point.

The player may or may not end up in Sweden — why not give him as many opportunities as possible to see what he’s got.

I’m assuming he wasn’t held out of the lineup for health reasons.

At least he’s getting into a game tonight, should be fun watching him.

considering that his SHL team has been saying that they fully expect him back with the team this year, yea I'd say it's highly unlikely he's in Laval until after the SHL season is over unless he makes the Habs of course. Not that I am pushing for that, since he's still so young, turning 21 in 6 weeks or so.

I thought he was our best player in Leafs game. Drives to net, decent speed, hands. Real good mid line NHL winger
His pro game is head and shoulders above any prospect right now. He look like a young Patch clone outhere with that release and speed. Yall notice the second gear with his third stride?? Man he's impressive... No way we send him back to international ice when his game's more suited for NA. Gotta send Slaf down, keep Emil up until december and see from there imo.

Wasn't Lehkonen just a couple of months older when he made the Habs?

Completely different players/roles. Pezzetta is not making this roster either if that's where you're going with this.
Pezzetta is a dime a dozen player. He is fine for a callup or a 14th forward but should not be playing if everyone better than him is healthy.

I was thinking last night, Slaf better off playing first line minutes in Laval. Give his roster spot to Heinemann. Generally, once they get use to North American ice surface his game will come up another notch.

Couple times his decisions of where to shoot were wrong, he could have taken more ice and been in a better scoring area.

But he was one of the only noticeable players last night after a good camp. I still don't think they keep him here, there's too many bodies we need to sort through and he won't be harmed by another SHL season and finishing in Laval's play-off run.

I'm not surprised. Toffoli had great trade value and it was not just some 1st and meh prospect return. This kid has game and he's physically strong with great skating. Might not be a play making winger but he is certainly going to be strong on the forecheck and chip in on goals here and there. Type you can plug in on any line.

Hence the invisible anchor around Montreal's general managers for the past half century.
That is an exaggeration. Very few of the bad contracts over $4.5M we have had over the past 30 years were for French Canadians.

Price latest, Gallagher latest, ALZNER, Hoffman, Petry latest come to mind.

6'2, skates very well, good intensity, good release and shot. I actually liked his cycle game too! There might be a future 2nd liner in here

This is something that I like about the new management: they acquire big players. Heineman is 6'2, Dach is 6'4, Slaf is 6'4. This makes the size of other players and promising prospects like Caufield, Mesar and Farrell way less of a problem if there's always one or two big guys on their line

I think his release looks like a guy that could be a consistent 20+ goal guy some day. I like that he knows his shot is his asset and he isn’t afraid to use it. Will learn to pick his spots better with experience.

If he’s playing top 6 minutes over there, then it’s not so bad.
He was not playing top-6 minutes over there. It's also a league heavily centred around defensive play. staying there is not the best option.

Montreal will need to pay the team decent cash to get them to relinquish their rights.

Otherwise, it's playing in Montreal until December to be able to let the Habs send Heineman to the AHL afterwards. Not a great idea for his development given the limited minutes in Montreal if he plays for the Habs there.

Decent cash is what the Habs are made of. If that’s the only thing standing in the way of Heineman staying in North America, I imagine they can come to an agreement.
