The divide in that room must be real

I'd imagine getting rid of JT Miller might cure it but looks like management chose JT instead

Management must have really underestimated how unliked Miller is?

I don't remember hearing him being this big of a problem in other dressing rooms. Maybe better leaders or more elite players to keep his ego in check?

For some reason, I remember Weber beating the crap out of him now as a Ranger and it made me smile.

Every time I hear an RFA "wants out" I openly hope that the team in question grows a backbone and tells them to be quiet and wait until the letters next to their name say UFA.

If that becomes a big enough problem, let the NHLPA take it up next time the CBA is revisited. I'm sure there's something the players can collectively give up in exchange for being able to choose where they play earlier in their careers
That's all fine and dandy until the guy walks the following year and your team has nothing to show for it.

Pure click bait, his agent just finished saying he wants to stay long term.

“Going to want to move” is a LARGE assumption, similar to rumours saying McDavid is going to want to move

Pettersson also said he wants to play for a competitive team. The Canucks haven’t been competitive for a very long time.

team sure is having a rough go of it this season
reading this morning how Hughes says powers that be mishandled Pearson's injury, costing him the season

Michael Russo of the Athletic reported that Pettersson is going to want to move on, and that “there is some behind-the-scenes stuff that will make him go elsewhere.”

It's pretty easy to say it's not his style to throw out rumors without anything to back it up. Following it up by then throwing out a rumor without any evidence kinda proves the opposite however.

He can want that deal but not from Vancouver…

That came from his agent. His agent is not going to say Pettersson wants out when he’s still under contract for another 1.5 years.
As a Canucks fan I am realistic. Petey could very well pull a Tkachuk or Trouba and after 6 seasons when his deal is ufa tell the club he’s not doing a long term deal. It’s either his QO or arbitration to hit ufa. Then they’d have to move him.

It’s a mess in Vancouver. They keep spending to the cap and still end up near the bottom of the standings.

So I would not expect him to sign a new contract early like this off season when he has a year left. Play it out if I were him. Not betting my future with this organization the way it is owned and run. The owner is a meddling egomaniac who can’t make an honest assessment of the team. Hired a yes man who shouldn’t run a team and extended him twice.

Unless, you know, you consider his track record considering he's been around a long time.

They’d probably be better off treating that RFA like an asset that can bring value back for their franchise instead.

Play it out your way. He signs his QO and walks away for nothing because you were too stubborn? You really showed that RFA who can now choose anywhere at any contract while you let a top asset go for nothing.

That GM isn’t employed very long.

Teams don’t do what you suggest because they’re trying to maximize the return for the asset. Not let him walk.

So some American insider who gets things continually wrong has a “gut” feeling Pettersson will want out.

Canucks aren’t trading Pettersson.

Why would a very competitive athlete want to play for a continuously shitty and dysfunctional organization? He’s not going to waste his prime years here with no playoffs. It’s the same reason Horvat hasn’t re-signed.

I feel bad for Vancouver fans. First it was Horvat, then Boeser, now Pettersson ouch!

i think the first last straw was the handling of the tanev/toffoli/markstrom contracts, which led to petey forgoing a longterm deal for a bridge in the first place

but long live jt miller/myers/OEL

feels good

I like when a report says something that makes rival fans happy about a hated team it is INSTANTLY believed....

but when a report says something that annoys rival fans about a hated team, it is instantly said its fake and untrue and blah blah blah

Uh What?
JT Miller was def a problem in the Rangers dressing room. Maturity issues were always apparent when he was in NY.

I will just never understand that Miller signing. They could have started their rebuild so well trading Miller, Horvat, Kuzmenko. Now if Elias wants out, they would get a haul for him.

4-5 first round picks from those places ++++

That Miller signing just made it all weird
