He's done some good things but it still amazes me how he scored 42 goals in '22. Marchand hasn't even ever hit 40. I'd be happy with seeing at least some small part of that. Probably not.

The Bruins will call up P. Brown or something like that if Lindholm misses time. Can never have enough plumbers to solve the teams offensive woes.

One day I thought about firing up the Youtube and watching the video of his 42 goals that year but decided it would be too depressing.
I would argue it was Gaudreau driving that line. Supremely good playmaker playing alongside a meat and potatoes finisher plus a more well rounded guy in Lindholm? It's almost as perfect of a top line as you can get.
He has played 12 seasons and had one season where he scored 30 or more goals, the season he scored 42. It’s called a statistical outlier. One season where everything came together for him offensively in a big way and was very lucky with an 18% shooting %.

He was brought in as a number one because they needed two front line centers. I would argue he’s a second line center. They still need another impact center. Once that happens, they all will settle into their right spot. It will help Lindholm and Coyle.

You can't pay a first line center with Lindholm and Coyle making so much.
They don't become available often either. Lindholm was the closest thing in recent memory to one being a UFA.
Should have been trying to accumulate scoring wingers. Since drafting Pasternak and DeBrusk havent drafted anyone really. Trades have been sky high prices Nash Bertuzzi etc.
I hope he is just battling through a nagging injury and gets right. *If* Poitras fulfills his potential (and no reason to think he can't), then Potsy-Lindholm-Coyle down the middle can be just fine as a center group. A team does not have to have an elite 1C to be very successful. The trick will be to have wings that can put the puck in the net consistently. Bruins are a bit short on that right now.

He seems like he just might be one of those grass is always greener guys that we overrated on other teams. Way closer to Coyle than Bergeron and should have been paid as such but I feel ya Don had me fooled too
