Would be curious what the Flames could get for this package at the draft. Lots of teams would be inquiring as both are on low cap hits. Maybe trade up for a top 5 overall?
If Blues can free up some cap space, could absolutely see them in on Hanifin, would've move our 1st though, the late 1sts and other assets could be on the table.
We'll have about $4M for our final roster spot that is likely to be a #3 C. Our interest in Hanifin would be dependent on moving out someone like Krug or Scandella because of our somewhat roster jam defenseman, but we'd have the cap space to make a deal happen.in the summer even after signing RFAs, not many teams are going to have cap space. After filling out St. Louis 23 man with $1M contracts..st Louis has maybe $2M in space.
it will be like last summer where 5 teams have about $10M+, a few others have $3-5M in space and the rest are $2M or less or over the cap
Dammit you beat me to it!Dougie Hamilton, Micheal Ferland and the rights to Adam Fox.
I'd consider Hanafin for something around the Rangers 1st IF Kylington is returningIf Blues can free up some cap space, could absolutely see them in on Hanifin, would've move our 1st though, the late 1sts and other assets could be on the table.
Does anyone know the reason for his absence?I'd consider Hanafin for something around the Rangers 1st IF Kylington is returning
Nope. I am guessing it is mental health at this point.Does anyone know the reason for his absence?
There's no term on Lindholm.Would be curious what the Flames could get for this package at the draft. Lots of teams would be inquiring as both are on low cap hits. Maybe trade up for a top 5 overall?
I’d do that if the Flames are tearing it down but they won’t lolThe Canucks are stupid enough to trade their top7 pick for two pending UFAs.
VAN 1st + Boeser + OEL for Hanifin + Lindholm?
No team picking 5th overall will want to give up extremely high picks for UFAs, especially in a draft where almost the entire top 5-6 are viewed as franchise corner stones. IF you wanted to consider a trade like this, it’d be either to a very recently bad team that just turned the corner (Buffalo, Ottawa) or a team that just won the rights to Bedard who thinks they can immediately turn the corner next season (Detroit, Columbus) and you get some blue chip prospects back that are a few years away plus future picks in exchange. Regardless, you don’t get anywhere the value of a top line centre and a still youngish top 4 D if they get traded together. Calgary would be best off running it back next season, and if it doesn’t work, see how much a contender would pony up for a lower tier 1C at 2.4 million (or 1.2 million at double retention), and same for Hanifin akin to what St. Louis did this year.Would be curious what the Flames could get for this package at the draft. If Calgary traded Lindholm at next years deadline 50% retained and got that as a return I’d be pissed, let alone a for both for a year. The 1st is obviously spectacular but OEL and Boeser wipe out most of its value, that’s 13 million for the next 2-4 years after this one gone. The Canucks are stupid enough to trade their top7 pick for two pending UFAs.

Not remotelyRasmus Andersson available?
Bluejackets might want Lindholm
