Wow didn't really expect this. I thought the Avs and EJ might have a similar relationship to Staz and the Avs, after EJ supposedly didn't waive his NTC for Anaheim.
Love this addition even if he'll just be a depth guy.
Leadership and his relationships with Gabe and Nate will be his biggest contributions. Perhaps a big goal or two if he plays some games in the playoffs.
This team just desperately missed both his and Gabe's leadership, and ability to keep things light, with a positive mindset, in pressure packed situations, when things weren't going their way in the moment.
This team is gonna be pumped with him and hopefully Gabe back. They've really missed that tight nit family feel they had before.

How fun would it be to see the aging Condor turn up ice one last time and just f***ing fly. Honestly, it'll be a site of beauty even if they don't convert but to watch him skate it up and break in one more time would be phenomenal and make my heart soar even higher.

The California condor has a wing span averaging 9.8ft. Wider than any other North American bird.
Our particular californian condor is a bit smaller at 6'4" but comes in at a bit over 100Kg. Big f***ing bird indeed.
The californian condors are famed for their fierce beaks; however, our particular one... well his grill isn't what it used to be, but the smile still warms the heart.

It's the long sunlight hours. Animals and hell, even plants/flowers in Alaska get big for the same reason. You should see some of the gourdes (pumpkins) that are grown around here. Litterally one f***ing pumpkin not even fitting in the back of an F-150 without getting wedged in cockeyed and haning all out on one side.
I really need to come down to Australia. I've had too many friends from the area and too many friends that have travelled and told me to go to not have done so at least once in my life. It's just a long damn flight. Been thinking of trying it for vacation with my wife in the next few years though. Would love to hit up Sydney, Perth maybe spend a few days seeing the outback and then heading over to New Zealand for a quick stop at Hobbiton before coming home.

I work for the Banking Ombudsman (i.e. The Bank police), so if anyone has a complaint against a Bank, Broker, financial firm, they come to us, and we mediate, and provide a binding solution. Anyways, one of my complainants is an 81 year old lady from Perth, and she casually told me she was having a dip at the beach and was surrounded by a shiver of Tiger Sharks last week. Hahaha
God love Australia.

I mean sure... if we were going to get an actual defender, I would have been all over the Blues trying to get Parayko. But this wasn't really about solidifying our defense. I mean sure... EJ as a #8 or 9, sure. But he wasn't brought in to play #8 or #9. He was brought in to be around the team. To loosen the guys up. To crack the belt if needed. He's a player coach who will not probably play more than a few games.
But don't let that fool you about his impact. Oh no sireee. I'm loving this. Would have loved JMFJ at points earlier in the season as well for the same reason. If any defender in the top six thinks they can take a shift off, Bednar knows he's got a guy that doesn't. If the D, especially bottom pairing, is having problems exerting their will... this is where EJ can came in. No, he's nowhere near what he used to be. But he's a freaking warrior of a vet and he knows where to take liberties and where not to during the playoffs. He knows how to play hard whistle to whistle. He knows when to engage after a whistle and when it's just a no-win situation and to back out. He knows when it is worth just f***ing someone up and he certainly knows that to play for Bednar you don't do that too often. It's a timely thing... usually reserved for shifting momentum rather than actually making a play. But then again... if you even so much as lay a hand on Nate, Cale, Lehky, Girard or anyone else... EJ will be your huckleberry. Much like Gabe... he will not allow a cheap shot to go unanswered in the playoffs. It will be dealt with and quickly.
I can't believe this. EJ has been traded back to the Avs... and I'm actually happy about it? Cloud seven friends. This is cloud seven. Cloud nine was when Footer and Forsberg came back in 2008. This is not that far behind as far as getting a jolt to the jinglies on the deadline day.
