f***, they’re keeping EJ out tonight.

They should’ve put him in the starting lineup. That would’ve brought the house down.

They will give Malinski a full shot at keeping his spot.

We have a retrieval D on every pair, and a guy that can break the cycle.

I think against the heavier teams both regular season and Playoffs you might see Bednar lean EJ's direction though.

Jared just does things to piss us off. Playing Ryan Graves all those years, telling us hes not worried about the PP when it was ice cold and the worse of them all....I.Havent.Spoken.To.The.Medical.Staff

Just listened to some of the EJ presser:

“I’m not here to retire. I’m not here for a swan song. I’m here to win a cup. I’ll do whatever it takes. 5 minutes a night, 10 minutes a night, 15 minutes a night. I’ll shovel snow between intermissions. Whatever they need.”

I honestly don’t think anyone has appreciated pulling on the Avs sweater more than EJ. I don’t think anyone is expecting anything great from him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if his game took a small up-tick back in the burgundy and blue.
Can see Mac is happy. Few minutes, and the most important guy in the room.

Sometimes a guy who points to a hill and sz let's go, and you go because... because you go. Need these guys.

It can not be understated how Danny Brierre approached EJ with the whole thing.

Danny wanted to send EJ home, not to get rid of him... but because there is something that is intrinsic between players and teams. Colorado is where EJ belongs. Much as Boston is where Borque always belonged. He was a gift to us and we were entrusted to be his caretaker and get him the Cup. Mutually beneficial, but Raymond is a Bruin... through and through.

EJ is an Av. Yes he was drafted #1 overall by the Blue Notes but he found his home here. This is where he made his bones and cemented his legacy. Yes... I do believe there is room in the rafters for #6 when all is said and done, I imagine #29, #92, #8 and #6 will be raised from this group that lasted around. It's probably one number too many... but I don't care. When in doubt, the more the merrier in my opinion. Especially since this is about remembering players.

I do like what some teams do with having a banner with all the players that wore a number though, because we have actually retired a lot of numbers for a short lived franchise. But it is incredibly important for the history of the team to see the names Sakic, Roy, Forsberg, Foote, Hejduk, Blake and even Borque. 30 years from now, it will be equally important to remember the names Makar, MacKinnon, Landeskog, and yes... Big Johnson. Maybe we can just hang #36 and put Johnson & Johnson on the back.

The shocker in all this is that Sanheim turned down a Rolex from EJ for the #6. What an idiot.... To own a Rolex with an engraved message from EJ would be something. Granted, I'm a completely helpless watch nerd.

Some day I'm buying myself one of those. I won't do it until it makes sense, but I've gotten close, I chose a ATMOS sound system.

I want that white gold blue face version so bad.

I take care of all of my responsibilities in life, and never has anyone under my financial responsibility wanted for much, but that's something I want one day.

Last time I looked it was going to cost me 5 or 6k, now it's like 8k, by the time I do it I'm sure it will be 10k lol.

Man, you can get an Explorer for 6K. A submariner will set you back 10K used... you won't find a distributor who will sell you one. They will make you buy several other Rolxes first. It's part of the game with Rolex. The entire AD model has gone bonkers since Covid. My Rolex of desire is the original Pepsi-Bezel GMT watch they made for Pan-America pilots. Instead of the GMT hand moving, you can quick set the actual hour hand without stopping the minutes or seconds, so as you move thru time zones, you can change the local time rather than the GMT time. Subtle difference but that's what sets aside a Traveler's GMT and a Caller's GMT (caller meaning, that you basicaly move the GMT hand around to figure out what time zone someone you are trying to contact is in.)

God it's a whole culture lol

I bet the players don't know shit about that stuff.

Edit.

I've just always wanted one. It's a weird thing, like no, generally I don't have any business wearing that, but I've reached a point in life where if it's something I really want, I can actually have it.

I have enough shit to keep up with when it comes to my Corvette and computers lol. I may have a Rolex one day, but no I'm definitely not diving into the mechanics of a watch.
That's the thing that got me caught with this bug. It's too damn cold to have an adaquate garage for a shade tree mechanic.

I've missed tinking with timing belts, spark gaps, distributors and carbeurators. If I can keep a 2 foot by 2 foot section of my desk clean... I can completely do this and get my fix for tinking with gears, figuring out the best lubricating oils to use for different components etc....

Also, I don't buy Rolexes... I buy old Tissots, pocket watches and and whatever vintage cheap mechanicals I can find from the 60s. I tend to like that mid-century modern, optimistic art-deco of the future that plays into so much of that era.
