Regardless of what this headline says, Jack Eichel really needs to go somewhere he really wants to go. Otherwise it'll be rinse and repeat in his new home. But saying that, I'd actually love to see him go to the Bruins because I know that his act won't work in that organization.

There sure is. Dressing room issues. Defensively poor. Disliked by coaches and team mates. Does not make his team mates better.

These are all things to consider, they were all missing from your original post which is why I think you got the LOL response. There are other things as well, and I think if you didn't have a strong bias towards Marner, you could find some things that are a plus in Eichel's favour.

I also don't think it's true that he's disliked by teammates and a dressing room issue (at least that's not my impression from what his mates have said), and as far as making others better, that's such a nebulous criteria and doesn't really mean anything.

Obviously yes.

Nylander + 1st while Buffalo retains 25%.
just don't see miself that we would have (3) three elite centers playing.... tavares matthews and eichel. It doesn't work out well. If tavares or matthews were to be traded, that is a another thing and strategy milord. Not ever has there been three elite 10 mil dollar suckas on centerfield at the same tezime sire. At this scenario, one of these suckas would also be upset, cause they can't all play a lot of minutes. Some of these fools would sit-a-lot more than he should.

Flip Tavares to wing, problem solved. Easy peasy.

Marner for Eichel might be worth considering if Eichel was 100% healthy. He's not though so that's that IMO.

Sorry but I don’t think Eichel is the answer.

We are still trying to determine if the collection of JT/Matthews/Marner/Nylander is.

It’s not just about individual talent or points or expected goals/assists for.

Its about a sum of the parts able to do more as a collection than individuals come playoff grind time. To skill, to forecheck, to grind, to power, etc. And I don’t think all of the above are the answer.

If Eichel gets his surgery, when will he be able to play? 2022-2023 season?

I think tavares is best suited center, for life and has been sire. He ain't moving to the wing never in his career. Like for games and all. He has a fine faceoff ability too and likes that challenge. Our captain is where he stays sire. I don't think we is wanting the neck injured eichel ever in his life. Some otha sucka, a loser team is milord.

If we needed to move someone to the wing, I'm sure Tavares would volunteer. It's also a pretty easy transition, that's why you often see Team Canada lineups with like 8 centres and half of them playing on the wing.

That's a smaller tournament and more of an homage and honor thang sire. Its not so tough in their egos and all there. Everybody just wants to be envolved and they know the team is always so stuffed in hard there. Tavares is our captain and he signed to play centerfield for life for us. He ain't knowing a lot of the wing game. Having played centerfield his whole lezife sire. Eichel is injured so him being able to breath is a concern of mine...... mine and tavares. We think that tavares should stay and be our number one center guy going into the season. We ain't have matthews neither in our first game. He might be back for the second though. If the wrist is able to shoot that thang like eichel did. Eichel won't be shooting nothing this season. He finna be surcimstized.

JT isn't a realistic option though.
I agree as his NO trade is an issue. But it is either him or Nylander that needs to go to address our needs. Marner and Mathews is a non starter as we are talking about top 10 players NHL wide who are as a good a two some in the NHL as you can get.

I would rather chase another forward and a Dman in a better trade. Nylander plus for a Scoring tough winger and a right shot tough D man leave room to sign Rielly

I'll say it again: Marner straight up.

- Buffalo might go for it because they're under pressure and certainly won't get fair value plus Marner's deal was very front loaded so there are monetary incentives.

- Eichel has a give-a-shit quality to his game that this team seems to be missing.

- The team clearly needs a shakeup and a message sent.
You go from minor attitude issues, to big attitude issues for a marginal talent upgrade, and in a position that's not necessary.
Add on injury history and I'll pass.

No thanks. Tremendous upside, but far too much uncertainty regarding his health moving forward given the assets it would take to acquire him.

you guys amazing me ...

sure lets trade one of the best RWs in the league who will score over 100 points this year for a guy who hasnt played in 2 years, because he isnt playing this year.
all to save 900k on cap.

astonishing.

I wouldn’t trade anyone on the leafs for him given the circumstances (that would actually get the trade done). I was simply refuting that Marner is better than him all else being equal (health).

Marner's in the 10-20 range IMO. Great player but he's gotta perform in the playoffs before he's ranked higher than that.

I'd probably trade Marner for him straight up, other than that, I don't think there is anything that works.

I am not even 100% on this though, Marner is truly special, but that would give us 3 centers who can produce without talent around them, then add Nylander/Amirov/Robertson to each of their wings over the next couple of years and I really don't know how you'd shut down that offense.

lol. First team all star a 100 point winger who is great defensively. He has been our best playoff performer over the last 5 years. People on here act like he did nothing. Marner set up his line mates for so many scoring chances this past playoffs and they simply did not finish. He did so exhausted by as poor as an ice time allocation from a coach as you can get. Easily a top 10 player and top 5 in my opinion finishing 5th in scoring. All the while playing on the PK. Sorry he is a superstar
