notoriously good playoff team... the bruins...At least he was cheap? Find it hard to be at all inspired by this. Bruins are gonna get Lindholm and they're gonna dog-walk us in the playoffs again. Can't wait.

Id rather have insurance on the team incase the team goes on a run then not have any insurance and play one of Gio/Lajoie/Lagersson.
Things get wierder. Timmins was getting healthy and now on LTIR

Solid addition, guy is a big physical mean D man who knows how to keep the front of the net clear.
For the people crying about this addition, go rewatch our series vs Montreal, this guy and Chiarot were a f***ing nightmare in the blue paint. Expecting him to get a few penalties for cross checking, but also punish the opposition in the crease. Big boy who knows how to use his weight and plays a mean game 75% retained, he will be important in the playoffs.
Maybe. But at the same time, a 3rd and a 5th isn't cheap either
Still a better playoff team than usnotoriously good playoff team... the bruins...
Do you believe a difference maker can be obtained for two thirds, a fifth and a sixth? Especially a RHD. Who do you think we could've gotten for those picks? We now just have a 6th and a 7th round pick in the 2025 draft, might as well fire all the scouts after the draft this year.
I'm not a fan of the moves so far - is Edmunson even better than Benoit?
We traded two thirds, a fifth and a sixth for Edmunson and Boosh - I would have preferred to have moved all of that for an actual difference maker. Or just kept the picks.
He's only 30, he declined that much ?That Montreal series was 3 years ago. His game since have declined significantly
Ben Chiarot also looked like prime Pronger. He's hardly an NHLer right now
Leafs have a way of making a lot of D look like Prongers.
How many of you looked at the roster yesterday and then said "If we only had Joel Edmundson, we'd be cup winners!"??
Me neither.....
Colton Parayko is the same age and an inch taller. He is also a right handed dman that could've played with Rielly.
Other organizations maximize those thirds all the time.
Look at Toronto draft history and a NHL player that's been taken in the 3rd + 5th round for them,
I can tell ya, apart from Pontus Holmberg, hardly any of them have been NHL players.
Bruins fore check against Benoit, Lyb, Edmundson, Brodie. Not going to be pretty.Against us they may as well be the 70s Habs or 80s Islanders or Oilers.
Looks like the Bruins and Lightning wanted him as well.I don't think the people complaining have taken a gander at the depth chart. If one injury occurred the Leafs would have had to have played 40 year old Mark Giordano. Toronto is going into the playoffs. They needed someone to come in and compete for minutes. Edmundson is a #6-7 guy who can battle with Benoit for ice. I think the move is pretty solid when it comes to who they targeted.
My only beef is why Edmundson cost more than Lyubushkin? Lube (75% retained) + Slepets cost a 3rd + 6th, Edmundson (50% retained) pulled a 3rd + 5th. I thought Edmundson would have been the cheaper of the two.

The question becomes - how much can he impact playoff hockey at this point in his career? Those are some tough miles on him.He was pretty damn good with the Blues during their cup run too.
That's not the case at all. Personally, I don't mind them, but I think paying a 3rd for them is excessive, even with the hidden Toronto tax.parayko having also a 6,5M salary cap until 37...
leafs fan wanted a physical d pretty hard to play against, leafs finally get it with mccabe benoit, boosh and Edmundson but fan syill unhappy because its was not sexy name.
but at the end of game, most of the time those kind of move are the best move.
Hainsey was not a sexy name when pittsburgh trade for him or leafs signed him, but he was the best rielly partner ever
Yeah, that is my only concern with having him. He will now get called for shit he's done his whole career.Solid addition, guy is a big physical mean D man who knows how to keep the front of the net clear.

If Edmundson can't play with Rielly or on the right side what was the point in acquiring him? We already have Lagesson. Sure he's taller than him but will he play any better than him?parayko having also a 6,5M salary cap until 37...

How do you know his play has 100% fallen off???It's 100% fallen off. This isn't the 2019 or 2021 Edmundson. Yes he's a prick to play against, but can the guy still play hockey? Package these picks or sweeten the deal for someone with term, this is just more of the same every year.
