We are replacing Brodie with Edmundson? So we paid a 3rd and a 5th to downgrade our defence?
You think Edmundson for Brodie is a downgrade? Have you not been paying attention to Brodie's work this season? He's been a giveaway machine, easily walked, easily pushed off the puck, etc. Let's try some size and strength so we can take care of the house in front of the net.

Is this guy good
No but he will cross-check people and potentially break ribs. Also he's big and can clear the crease. He's a mean, dirty and big bodied defence-man who will protect the front of the net and try and injure the other teams star players if they get near the goalie. If we run into Florida in the playoffs again, I am expecting him to absolutely lay Bennett the f*** out. He's being brought in to play a mean physical game.

With this team upfront being soft and unable to convince nearly any of the UFAs to stick around it is clear they need a "push" from some alpha males. The more the merrier. Big, mean and unpleasant to p;lay against.

It is the extreme balance needed for this soft team. Playoffs should be another low scoring affair because our stars disappear when it gets rough, so we need shutdown D to win games 2-1 etc.

That might be one of the worst pairings to ever step onto NHL ice
And it might not. Too many people dissed the Schenn trade and Benoit signing and both turned out to be valuable players. Boosh has also looked fine in three games he’s played. Not sure why people want to prejudge any trade especially for players coming from bad teams and different systems.

That’s exactly how they need to play. Low event hockey where they can frustrate their opponent and hope their game breakers score a couple of goals. Big, tough dman are required to limit chances, keep the net front clear and pound players in the corners and entering the zone.

Treliving likes giant dmen. Great depth move. Size size size. Still need to address top 4.

Bouwmeester - Parayko were together for almost the whole playoff run and most of the regular season. Parayko saw some time with Edmundson during the season

Edmundson had Pietrangelo and Bortuzzo as his partners in the playoffs
That was a helluva D group they had that year. Big, mobile and nasty with some offensive punch to boot. Topped off with good ole Carl Gunnarsson who was very solid and a young up and comer in Dunn.
For a non Blues fan I had great admiration for that team.

How hard would Tre be criticized if tomorrow’s 3 pm eastern time deadline passes and he does not address the top 4?
If the 2024 1st is not moved to get a top 4 dman or a fwd like buchnevich it will for sure be a missed opportunity and treliving will certainly be criticized.

There is no scenario short of winning the cup where Tre isn't criticized about this deadline.
It's a divided fan base without much will to alter our opinions.

Brodie has been terrible for quite some time. Any puck that touches his stick in the ozone instantly kills the play. He’s making terrible defensive mistakes now and is soft as melted butter. He looks okay next to Rielly but has looked terrible next to McCabe or Liljegren. Not sure where he fits and given how soft he is, not sure he’s a Tre type dman.
It's actually the other way around. Lol

Tre is going to be criticized regardless. Whether it’s from the Dubas Boys Club, Leaf trolls on here, draft-shmaft crowd, or the we gotta hang on to every pick so we can pick up the next Bracco brigade.

He takes Liljegren’s or Brodie’s spot neither of who can box out or clear the crease. Not redundant.
Neither can Rielly at $7.5m. Liljegren looked like stud when Rielly was suspended, when used correctly. If they trade Brodie then it makes more sense.

No, it won't. It will a reflection on Dubas and how brain dead his fans were.
