Hell

Just so non-Oiler / non-LA fans can draw their own conclusions.
I see why there's an argument it wasn't a slewfoot, but damn that's close.

Video fact: the whistle went after McDavid dug at Quick.

What is the complaint here? McDavid took an unnecessary swipe at the goalie, minor shoving. Nothing to see there?

I was really hoping we'd see a new matchup this year :(

I'm not really sure what to make of the Kings of late. They were red hot playing excellent hockey right after the trade deadline, and then after the back to back losses to Edmonton they seemed to concede that they were finishing 3rd in the Pacific and not look particularly good to finish out the regular season.

Also not sure what to make of Todd McLellan, the last matchup against these teams he had them playing very passively, playing not to lose and trying to just clog things up, but I don't think LA is built to play that way, they have too many offensive weapons.
Even their streak is hard to judge because it came largely against teams that they were supposed to beat. Since their last win against the Oilers in January they haven't seemed to have done particularly well against legitimate playoff competition.

But still the last 2 Oilers/Kings games were 1 goal games for the majority of the clock.

A Slew Foot in hockey is an action where a player comes from behind an opposing player and trips him using his leg, skate or hockey stick, while, oftentimes, using his upper body, or arms, to further knock the opposing player off-balance. Usually, the victim of the action will fall to the ice, causing a potential injury. This can be especially dangerous if the victim falls backwards onto the ice.

Looks like a scrum and they both fall down together.

If only the Oilers had given one single fewer point away with Campbell, this wouldn't be round 1, but nevertheless...

Oilers stars, at "start of playoffs" 100% (minus Kane, Yamamoto who are what, 80?), prove overwhelming and they take it in five.

McDavid was something to behold last year, looking forward to this series a lot.

I really like what the Kings have done this year but the Oilers are just too strong.

No Fiala and no Vilardi = Oilers in 5. Korpi steals 1 but Todd McLellan's inept coaching finds him putting MacEwen out vs. McDavid on home ice.

There is absolutely NOTHING encouraging about the Kings of the last couple of weeks, it's like TM merged his choking history with the Kings' history of conceding the division in the last couple of games to start choking BEFORE the playoffs instead of during.

I was looking forward to a potential war against the Kings but LA lost their bite and all that's left is the trap. Oilers are going to use their speed to pummel LA's D

LA can't get outhit 2 to 1 and win the series and they definitely are getting outhit 2 to 1 imo

Oilers in 5. They're flying, the Kings aren't, and McDavid can do things single-handedly that no one else can.

I think oilers in 5 or 6 but I hope for 7. The kings surprised us last year so who knows.

Kings will keep these games tight, but without Fiala and Vilardi the depth scoring and powerplay are significantly hindered leading me to believe Oilers will win this one. Sucks that 2 years in a row were going into this series with 2 major cogs missing but it is what it is. Oilers in 6.

I think both teams are improved over their rosters for last years match up, but oilers got just a little better I think. Oilers in 6

This is perfect for the Oilers, they are heavy heavy favorites. Beat them last year pretty easily and McDrai can play their style against them and will put up another 20 points.

I voted Oilers in 5 because every team has off games but this could easily be a sweep.
