I'd be curious what the final 5v5 Corsi stats were in this series. After the final game it should be close to even. Edmonton had a large Corsi advantage throughout the series but that last game was dominated by the Stars.

Oilers did get outplayed tonight, but the series overall the Oilers dominated Stars. Outcome isn't lucky or flukey. Last year they ost to Vegas in the fashion they just won. As it goes it comes.

I for one love to see it
I don’t feel they were as defensively set last year as they were this year. Much better play overall. Especially after Skinner got sat.

My buddy, who doesn't care about hockey and doesn't know shit about it until the playoffs seems to think Dallas needs to fire Deboer and blow it up because they're massive choke artists.

Ended up being 51-49 in favor of the Oilers. This last game really evened up the overall series numbers. Goals 12-11 at 5on5 in favor of Dallas.

Dang... that was a close series after the 6th game.

I think a lot of sports is talking about what ifs though.
Sure, but what ifs don't mean shit at the end of the day. Its just something losing teams (we should know well as Oilers fans) do to cope with a loss. I could give 100 what ifs about the Oilers-Vegas series last year, but I'm not going to because they won and they won the cup.

Hell of a series, Stars fans. Thought it would go 7. Lot of bright futures in Dallas man.

Wyatt is the future in Dallas. A star in the making. But first year out, it was never going to be his year. Ditto with Stankhoeven. These guys need reps and beats to finally be Cup Worthy. Takes time.

Unfortunate for Dallas that it may be too late for guys like Pavelski and Duchene. Maybe even Benn and Seguin. Replace the older guys and give Wyatt the keys to the franchise and you guys will be back here very soon.

Dallas was supposed to have crazy depth and three scoring lines.

The line of Marchment/Duchene/Pavelski got caved in all series, and I think it's fair to say that Oiler's 4th line outplayed Stars' 4th line.

When the Oilers made roster changes, they had a wealth of options. Foegele, McLeod, Perry, Ryan, Brown, Carrick have all been in and out of the lineup, and Desharnais/Broberg have been swappable.

When the Stars needed to fill in for injuries, they had Ty Dellandrea who got nailed to the bench after a costly mistake on the PK, Mavrik Bourque playing in his 2nd NHL game. Filling in for Hakanpaa is Petrovic, an AHLer, and they almost had a guy ready to play his first NHL game if Tanev went down.

Whatever depth Dallas was supposed to have, I don't see it.

Just a dominant performance from Dallas in that game, but it doesn't matter. Special teams are the reason they're out. Brutal

Best of luck though, Oilers. Wouldn't mind seeing McDavid get a Cup. Florida is a very different team than Dallas, but not sure what to expect.
Doesn't help either when your goalie can't win a game 1 ever and gets outplayed by the Skinners of the world in a pivotal do-or-die game.
