The Aftonbladet article wasn't by Bjurman. It was basically a Swedish translation of the following article in NYP:

"Lundqvist said he normally goes through about three or four masks a season, this way he can auction them
off for charity. His previous mask had a navy blue cage on the outside, but the inside of the pipes were painted
white for better vision. This cage is all silver, and Lundqvist had the insides of the pipes sanded down so that there is less glare."

Thank youuuuuu

Surprised? No. I was worried this wouldn't happen because any hockey team can spiral after a bad start. But no, I'm not surprised. They have a highly talented group and a coaching staff that works very well with a high level of talent. I think if you look around the league, half or more, even those with elite talent, will be throwing 3/4 players out there that really don't belong in the NHL aka don't hit the median level talent.

Who on the Rangers doesn't belong in the NHL? I guess Kampfer but even lesser players can play acceptable NHL hockey for a stretch. Smith will figure it out and be back in. It's the depth. We've seen it for all of AV's tenure. Unfortunately, that hasn't gotten us over the hump. But take away that growing pains stretch in early 2013-14 and they've been a 100-pt team for 4 straight seasons. Thats... pretty good. One or two bounces and Cup and this all looks so much different.

Man was Edmonton overrated coming into the season. I see McDavid and Drai and nothing else. RNH is ok at best.

Think they surprised teams last year but not anymore. We even played Connor tremendously. He got a lucky pp goal that bounced around 3 or 4 times before getting to him and hank was actually there just didn’t have his stick.

Edmonton looks to be in trouble bud time.

If Nash and Zucc can get going we’re in real good shape

We need to get a 2c in here to center those two, move Hayes down between Miller and Vesey, and get Desharnais into the super-13th forward where he belongs... effectively filling in anywhere.

Couldn’t watch this one but just saw the highlights. PP looked excellent, and oilers PK looked like garbage. They really shouldn’t let Shattenkirks pass get through so many of their sticks but I’ll take it!

6 in a row, who’d have thought?

The only thing that sucks with Edmonton sucking is that they’ll be in a prime position to land either Dahlin or Svechnikov at this rate. And we don’t want Edmonton to get ANOTHER high pick..

Oilers are so dull this year. Even their jerseys got duller lol

Yeah changing the colors to make them less vibrant was a head scratcher for me.

Yeah, they’re going to be a 2 man team for a long time too with those extensions. Drai’s in particular is completely absurd imo.

Even the numbers on the back don't look like a solid color, it's a pattern. Like...y

I thought the prevailing thought was we were devoid of talent and filled with a team of borderline 2nd and 3rd liners. *sarcasm*

Absolutely. Really liked their game today. Best game for Zucc in a very long time. Still agree that they need another center though. Put Miller there.

They... kind of are... a little? But they are all NHL players. Especially in the forward group. Some are, in my mind, top line talent. It's really the lack of that superstar that recent champions have had. What if we had a Crosby or a McDavid (well, maybe doesn't have to be THAT good) centering a Zucc and a Buch. And then Zibby is getting better matchups. And then Hayes gets better matchups. (hey, you get it)

But, maybe Zibby can get there. PPG is elite in this NHL. Let's hope he doesn't take any freak foot-dives into the boards again. He's only 24. If he was a pure goal-scorer I would say he is what he is. But that's obviously not what he is. Buch might be getting there, too.

It seems like Zucc is figuring out how to play with the two puck hogs.

The best deterrent for shenanigans against your players is a lethal PP. It's great having a strong PP. It's been so long since we had it.
