We need no crystal ball to see Ceci's past (which I, and many others in the Atlantic, have watched plenty); or to see that Keith is done and has been done for 2 years.
You're right. I mean, Ceci doesn't have the ability to bounce back. Once a player is on the decline they'll continue to do so even at the age of 27. No growth or change in their game. /s
He's fine as bottom pairing. You haven't seen him play in Edmonton yet with Tippett's system. So you can continue to assume or read off your crystal ball I guess.
Keith was carrying a bunch of rookies (forwards and D) on a bad Hawks team going to a better team and playing 2nd pairing with less TOI. He's not forced to play tougher oppositions. Nurse is top pairing and will be taking the harder match ups. We've seen many Norris trophy winners play into their 40s. You assume Keith is done based on what?? Age? Or did your crystal ball tell you he's done as player? Or do you mean he's done in Chicago?
The defence as a whole took a step back losing Larsson. Ceci for Bear is a wash. The forward group is much improved with the addition of Hyman, Foegele, and Ryan. The right side defence looks brutal but each pair is partnered with capable puck moving Ds. Moving the puck up ice to the forwards and sustaining pressure and generating chances in the Ozone is more ideal with how the D and forward group is structured. Defence is done by committee, that means the forwards have to support the D in the Dzone and we have the forwards to do this.
You don't watch or follow the Oilers to understand how they play. And no, the Sabres D is not 'miles' better than the Oilers. The Oilers finished 2nd in their division twice in a row. They're a lock to be behind Vegas. Sabres neither have the forward, D, or goalie to even compete lol Enjoy watching the tire fire in Buffalo.
