Oilers currently have a 3.46 GAA (horrendous 25th in the league), while the leafs give up 2.54 (8th best).. why are the leafs and Matt Murray being brought up again?

J5ck Campbell sucks and it’s almost like we all knew it for a whole calendar year almost now lmao.

And oilers fans loved dumping on the leafs for their slow start.. yet:

Leafs 7-4-2 for 16
Oilers 7-6-0 for 14 playing in a significantly weaker division. LMAO.
Both teams have lost 6 games. Edmonton has played 3 of 14 games against Pacific teams. Two against Calgary. What the hell does their division have to do with anything?

Yeah, and Kallgren played in all of them but the first Vegas game.

If the Leafs have to start their #4 goalie in the playoffs, I think they lose to anyone. Kallgren's never put up .900 in an NHL season.
And Kallgrens playing cause of your GMs shoddy goaltending plan.

And no, no amount of goaltending will ever prevent the Leafs from being the leagues biggest first round chokers in history.

No he's not.

The Leafs got 3 goalies injured at the same time.

Yes, 1 of those goalies had an injury history, that's it. The rest have been healthy the majority of their careers.

He's playing due to bad luck.

If the top 3 Oilers goalies were injured, can you even name the goalie that would be playing?

But despite the Leafs playing with an injured d-core and their #4G, they still have a better record than a healthy Oilers team even with their new superstar, 25M all-star goalie in net.

He put one injury riddled goalie in net. Then he put a soft as shit team in front of the other leading to a Knee breaking breakaway. It all adds up.

That makes no sense.

So a soft team causes a goalie to get injured on a penalty shot with no contact?

It's okay, the Leafs playing with an injured D core and #4 goalie is still outperforming a healthy Oilers team even with their new superstar, 25M all-star goalie in net. I'd be bitter too, I don't blame you.

It’s okay. It’ll never make sense to you cause you have no idea how playoff series are won in this league. You have no point of reference.

It's okay, at least we don't thrive off a weak division and get swept back to back when we're forced to play anyone outside the division.

Oilers fans brag about playoff success in a division where the 2 latest expansion teams came in and are leading that division because there's no strong teams.

The same weak division that went 4-0 against the Leafs like a week ago? The same weak division that has teams that would beat the Leafs in any first round match up?

Like I said, it’s okay dude. You don’t know how playoff winning works, and that’s okay, it’s not your fault you’ve never seen it in your lifetime.

It's a weak division. Your argument is that the Leafs are a bad team, yet now you're surprised they lost with their #4 goalie because even you acknowledge how bad the Pacific is. If your argument for being a good division is beating an injured Leafs team, that's not a very strong division.

Arizona beat the Leafs with Kallgren too. Does that make the Central the top division to you?

Either Rodrigue or Fanti. But that's besides the point.

Oh so it’s cause of expansion teams now? The same ones you lost against last week?

I never said I was surprised they lost with their #4. Nothing about the Leafs losing surprises me. Don’t lie to make your argument please.

This is a weak attempt. You have to admit that.

Your argument is the division isn't weak because they beat the Leafs #4 goalie. So did Arizona? What's the point you're trying to make?

Everyone knows the Pacific is the weakest division. You can think the Leafs suck, but we both know you won't convince anyone on these boards that the Pacific isn't a weak division.

The Pacific division never makes it to the Cup Finals. The Atlantic has been in 4 Cup Finals in the last 3 years.

Leafs fans and their divisional excuses to cope with their historic playoff failures. Should we surprised they’ve resorted to this?

I mean not a lot of effort is required to figure out why the Leafs lose every single year at a historic pace.

No my argument is that divisions are largely the same; they have their ebbs and flows, ups and downs like anything in this League. But when it comes down to it; the team is responsible for their failures and successes and using slight divisional differences as an excuse can be seen as a hugely pathetic Mega COPE.

Let me get this straight.

You are on an Oilers signing thread yet you can't stop talking about the Leafs?

Buddy..... Is everything okay at home???

Tell me who hurt you and point at the teddy point where they hurt you

You can talk about Leafs play performance as much as you like.

But that has nothing to do with 3 of the Leafs goalies being simultaneously injured. That is simply shitty luck. It is what it is.

I can’t believe there are posts in here wondering why the Leafs come up when it’s largely Leaf fans in this thread trying to prove themselves by putting other teams/players down. People shouldn’t be surprised that the Leafs or rather a portion of their fan base are so despised.

No one on earth will agree with you here. Every Pacific division playoff team last season had zero combined playoff wins the year prior because they weren't allowed to beat up on each other due to the Covid divisional reformat. Obviously when the Pacific teams with no playoff wins have to play each other, someone has to win in the Pacific right? They division winner got swept after they were done with the weak division series though.

There's no reason why all divisions would be the same. Maybe over 100 years divisions have weaker and stronger years, but the last few seasons the Pacific is by and far the weakest division and everyone (except you?) knows it.

It’s luck but it also isn’t. You guys don’t have your “starter” cause he’s an injury plagued sieve.

I’m in an Oilers signing thread that’s been invaded by Leafs fans, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Leafs goaltending comes up as a subject when this is Leafs fans new favorite thread.

The LAK would have beaten the Leafs easily in a playoff series last year.

Kopitar and Danault would eat their lunch.

The LAK with Doughty and Arvidsson would have also swept the Oilers last year. The Leafs also swept the Oilers last year.

So basically you're knocking Edmonton because when they played a contender last year they lost, and only had success against bad teams.

So can you explain to me the difference between that and the Leafs failing to beat contenders in 4 of the last 6 years? Or failing to beat weaker teams in Montreal and Columbus in the other two?

Like, what's the actual difference here? Would you rather hang your hat on a 7 game series loss than a third round appearance and a sweep? Honestly? Everyone knows your schtick, but do you seriously believe in the massively flawed, backasswards logic you're trying to use for one team and not the other?
