Ill take wild guess now and say mcdavid signs for 8 x 15 after seeing this deal...
Not bad if cap keeps rising

Adios McDavid.
When you are badly underpaid on your RFA deal, you don't follow it up with a hometown discount UFA deal.Definitely didnt give out a homecount discount thats for sure.
~30% of the Oilers cap will be taken up by 2 players next year.
LOL
Yeah because those three are the elite of the elite. Can they remain competitive when 3 players will most likely take 40million of cap space when McDavid and Bouchard re-signs?
Oh, I don't disagree - But that doesn't mean it's going to be easy to navigate year-to-year roster construction. That's other guys taking discounts or bringing in sub par players to save money. Time will tell if they can pull it off and remain a contender through those contracts. If there was ever a duo worth paying 30% of your cap to, it’s them.
agree.. interested to see how the NMC\NTC is structured.Feels like it will be a problem at the tail end of the deal, but its fair now and its a pretty good indication that McDavid will be re-signing in Edmonton too, so they likely don't care.
So... 2 more years. Will become that much more difficult for Edmonton to win a cup. Just dont see how they can do it with how top heavy they wi be a year or two from now.
IMO their window is open until McDavid and Drai’s extensions are fully hitting. After that, their team will take a hit.
