Well considering Ekholms name was nowhere close to being mentioned before we acquired him, I have no idea....is there even an "Ekholm-level" Dman out there on the block right now??...![]()

Nurse has been arguably the best defenceman on a team tied for 3rd overall in the league.LOL Nurse-Klingberg hahahahahahahah you guys are fun.
Nurse has been great all season this year. Arguably our best defenseman. If you had paid attention, maybe we would take your LOLZ seriously.LOL Nurse-Klingberg hahahahahahahah you guys are fun.
It's hard to place Regula anywhere until we see what he looks like. Until then, I'm not putting him anywhere.Alec Regula, we hardly knew ye...
Depth. This won't end well... why "fix" working team?
Well considering Ekholms name was nowhere close to being mentioned before we acquired him, I have no idea.
Can't be worse then Nurse with Stecher, Brown, or Dermott. Nurse is having a great season and has played a lot with AHLer's.LOL Nurse-Klingberg hahahahahahahah you guys are fun.
Great signing now that I see the caphit and term. Could pay off huge. I know all the cards will show he was trash last season but 32 isn't too old for a Dman and he was obviously injured.Nice depth add, see if he has any game left after his hip resurfacing. If not, not much of a loss.
No, we have cap space right now. And if we send Josh Brown down (which we should) its essentially a wash.
I'm guessing the bonus is GP, so we'll see how that goes
Don't expect high brow hockey analysis from the HF trolls
They still can.Seems kinda pointless. They could acquire someone better at the deadline
You described everything , except hes a dman who cant play defensivelya free RHD who can skate, move the puck and bring offensive impact in this NHL economy?
can't wait to see the copium in this thread
Yeah, why not?A cheap gamble for a #7 who is a better hockey player than Josh Brown. Gives us some injury help if Bouchard goes down cause he can slide in on the PP.
This isn't exactly true. There were rumours that he was available. Seravalli had Ekholm on his trade board over a month before the trade happened. Nashville was in sell mode, and his name was certainly out there.Well considering Ekholms name was nowhere close to being mentioned before we acquired him, I have no idea.
He's no worse defensively than Josh Brown, and if he can still skate, his offense helps. A depth guy isn't going to be perfect. You described everything , except hes a dman who cant play defensively
We don't have a PP defenseman after Bouchard, so it fills a need. If Bouchard were to be injured, Klingberg won't replace him, but could be a better temporary solution on the PP than Nurse, who is the PP2 guy right now. He’s only good at PP.. they don’t need his style of play at all
The Oilers will add a #4 at the deadline, I'm sure of that.Correct.
Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Stecher
Kulak-Emberson
Klingberg
The guy he replaces is Josh Brown.
lol Should've just traded for Barrie. short drive over and he already knows everyone.lol
From that PoV ur not wrong , but does the oilers really need offensive dmen? He's no worse defensively than Josh Brown, and if he can still skate, his offense helps. A depth guy isn't going to be perfect.
The Oilers' success depends on McDavid, not the 7 or 8 Dman. He's not going to play that much if I was to guess. It's a zero risk signing. If anyone thinks this is anything more than a depth signing worth a roll of the dice they are dumb. If he's good, cool. If he sucks were in no different shape (the best team in the league since November) lol
StecherWho does he replace? Emberson, Stecher, or Kulak?
And their best player #29The Oilers' successndepends on McDavid, not the 7 or 8 Dman.
The Oilers want puck movers who can transition the puck up the ice. They value that very much, similar to Colorado. So yes you can't have enough of them. This one was free so worth a dice roll. From that PoV ur not wrong , but does the oilers really need offensive dmen?
