TSN blasted this trade a lot going off about how he won't be able to keep up with McDavid and Co. He was never going to play with him except maybe on the PP.

I believe he will be what EDM needs. The team is getting bigger and heavier. It will just be a question if it all gels together.

Good, because **** Boston's management.

for a terminated employee, taking a parallel position with another team...it was always a BS rule
Bettman i recall hinting he felt the rule, not only made no sense, but was to an extent against labor practices and could eventually end up in lawsuits. Hats off to Bettman for having fought that dumbass rule. like anything else you pick your hills to die on and he gave up and let the teams kill themselves on that hill and come back crying to him to fix it.

seriously. people knock bettman all the time but bettman has done nothing but save the owners from themselves. he is a nanny that is far smarter than the kids he babysits

i think the team needs to slow down too. Hall and McD and guys can pick their spots to turn on the jets ut most of the game should be throttled back a bit to attack in solid groups. its a new concept. they call it nhl hockey played by teams not in lottery position every year.

I like it. Surprised by it.

This team needs to play more of a cycling game eventually. For years the oilers were pretty decent on the transitional attacks because of their team speed but the play died after the shot.

We need to remove our perimeter players. Maybe we can get some consistent offensive zone pressure as chias plan of getting heavier sets in place.

guys like hall and ebs will be even better when this team can dominate cycles, wear defenses down, make nights tough for opponents, and HIT OPPOSING FORWARDS (play actual D).

edmonton has been the easiest team to play for a decade now. even if you are playing drunk and actually lose to the oil...it wasnt a tough night physically. pathetic.

I like the player just because everyone gets this notion you have to be fancy and have highly skilled, finesse player.

A great analogy in football is the run game opens up the passing game. In hockey if you have guys grinding wearing down the other team the skill will come through.

The Oilers don't win a lot of games because unfortunately skill can be easily neutralized. If you don't wear other teams down then your skill has to be exponentially more than there's. Also many teams nowadays get dirty goals either deflections or guys screening and going to the net.

The majority of TSN "people" are jokes.

Most of them are Toronto fans that are still butt hurt about us having McDavid

I remember when fourth round picks at the deadline were getting the Oilers guys like Jerred Smithson.

I just got home and had no clue the Oilers made this move! I stopped following things soon after the deadline so this was a nice surprise when I got home.

Overall, it's tough not to love this move. Maroon is a solid player with size which we desperately need. I love his versatility - he can play a few games in the top 6 and also just be a big body presence on the third line. The fact that we convinced Anaheim to pay $500K is just gravy.

This.

To many people on There just live off the TSN name.

O'Neill especially. I despise that ****ing clown. Never has any good insight and he just shows how much of a homer he is with the leafs. Guy's obviously still ******** over the oilers winning the McDavid lottery. **** that guy.
