From what i read Benning wants a top 6 winger in any deal for Edler, So Juulsen doesn't do any thing for Vancouver Detroit could offer Nyquist+Detroit's 2nd round pick for Edler that fills more of a need for Benning then adding futures in Juulsen.
Just as weak as above. We filled out left handed top 6 winger role already, Canucks need a right handed shooter to play RW on the 2nd line IMHO. Also anything with Edler out would make me want at least a PK specialist left side guy who isn't signed for more than the year and isn't above Edler's 5 million cap hit. Neither of these I'd look to Detroit for.
I'd wave Scherbak around. But don't expect us to give up a proven top 6 forward for Edler. It'd be a step backward. It's exactly what this team has spent all their effort into improving.
Still not enough. Just because there's incentive for you to do the deal and get a top defender doesn't mean the Canucks will accept a deal based on lesser pieces with no gain in draft picks worthy of dealing Edler off the defence.
edler is old and regressing, injury prone and limited offense in him. No, Habs should stay quite clear from him. Do you suggest we go with a top 4 containing edler (30) weber (31) and markov (37)??
