This isn't the mid-90's anymore. We're not the Scott Stevens era Devils. Our strength is generating offense on the rush and disrupting the opponent's attempts to break out of their zone. Sitting back on a lead hasn't been an effective strategy for more than a decade now. Especially against this Leafs team with the skill and weapons they have. And doubly so at home with their backs up against the wall in an elimination game.
He's been invisible in the offensive zone. All his actions seem to take place in the center ice area.
Listen, I'm not trying to be a jerk, we've both been around here for a long time, but the key to winning games in this era isn't clogging up the neutral zone anymore, it's puck possession. The best defense isn't sitting back on a lead, it's making sure your opponent doesn't have the puck in the first place.
