Exactly. I want to make Shesterkin throw some punches into the back of Canes players. Get in his face, frustrate him, get in his way.
I think it's pretty clear none of our guys want to do much dirty work except a 4th line rookie who has never fought before. The rest seem to be resigned to their fate.

I am a noted masochist but don’t think I can put myself through period 3.

But I’ll be in lower level south come Thursday by God even though I should probably pop smoke early for the long weekend at the OBX.

How can you still say this when this is the 5th time it’s happened on the road this very playoffs?

Not mutually exclusive. The team is not built to dominate on the road, at least at this stage of development. Because they lack true top end skill, they’re vulnerable to hot goaltending and lack of puck luck. Again, I think the fact that’s it’s happened so many times in a row is a flukey thing.

My condolences. There will probably be at least double the Rags jerseys as there was in game 1 and 2.

The team has been pretty bad on the road in the playoffs for several years now.

I agree, playoffs in any sport is flukey but the sample size is getting bigger for this team, coach and GM.

Perhaps the fact that its happened so many times is probably a result of not having any top end skill in the playoffs where most, if not all, teams have that.

Maybe it’s cause it’s playoffs. But what happened to the million stick infractions the Canes used to take? Our forecheck has been missing and so have those penalties.

Does Rod or Daniels run the power-fail?

Either way I feel like Daniels tenure needs to be coming to an end, I know Rod fought like hell for his assistants but it's time to change it up.

The fact that our scoring seems to dry up come playoff time is concerning.

Is it a systems issue, are they getting out-coached?

Unwillingness by the coaches to make adjustments other than over-slotting some replacement level 4th liner?

It it a players issue?

Combination of all of the above?

I've never played a single game of hockey in my life and am honestly a fairly casual fan of the game. I feel like I can watch the Hurricanes play and predict what they're going to do. If I've got their game plan figured out seems like the professionals on the other side of the ice should have no problem dissecting the plan and figuring out a way to combat it.

Yeah the whole not having a single superstar is getting really old. This Kreider guy has what 52 goals?? And makes 4 mil a year? How in the f*** does that happen?

The machine the Borg has built is great and all but when they throw sand in the gears, there ain’t much left but those gears.

I'm coming around on the notion Aho would be a perfect #2 on a cup contender.

Jarvis-Aho-Turbo would be a deadly 2nd line, and realistically that's where each of those 3 should be playing. We need a legitimate 1C to pair with Svech and a bigger bodied sniper on the other wing should be enough.

At a certain point we have to go big game fishing to get that kind of player because its unlikely we'll be able to sign one in FA (we wouldn't pay for it) and its doubtful one will fall to us in the draft. And we are flush with trade bait that we could use in that kind of trade.
