I'll tell you what though.

Krug is exactly the type of Dman the Rangers need on their blueline. A guy whose first instinct is to the shoot from the points.

Honestly, I'm beginning to think that Del Z's playmaking skillset isn't as needed on our blueline.

With Torts there, he would never play because defensemen are not permitted to play like that for Torts. Besides, he would not have gone through the process yet. He would play a guy like Hamrlik instead.

I don't care how badly I get flamed for this, but Lundqvist's rebound control is awful.

90% of the goals scored against him are rebounds.

The problem is, when he's playing well, the rebounds are partially due to the mass pileup right in front of the net, like on the 2nd goal. The way our D collapses is a double edged sword.

Krug reminds me of Marek Zidlicky. Also a little of Erik Karlsson, but the two aren't comparable, Karlsson is worlds better.

He's gonna be good, but not this good.

Not ready to call it a season, but if it happens it happens.
That being said, they need to pick up the physical play and the forecheck or the season will be over in 20

Krug is good because he can skate and mainly because he can shoot and shoot accurately. All of our defenseman shoot and have no idea where it's going and they take too long to decide to shoot. Krug gets the puck, or receives a one timer, and instantly fires and he hits the net.

Well, what do you expect. The Jackets have sucked for a while, so it would make sense that their fans wouldn't know too much about how good or successful a player is.

I don't talk to CBJ fans - but based on their thread on trade day, I am fairly confident most of them were going to miss Moore the most. I recall most of them saying that Dorse took really stupid penalties and that even though he is an asset in the locker room and has a great physical presence, it doesn't balance out his poor discipline.

I want to see him being challenged physically and defensively before I'd even mention him in the same sentence. The Rangers haven't done aynthing.

Not just the net but often the corners. Pretty crazy idea!

Ye, that's why Dan Boyle got his career jumpstarted playing under Torts. Career high 63 pts under Torts.

The problem is no one on the roster is comparable to Krug offensively talented-wise combined with skating ability.

His shot is up there, yes. But so far he hasn't been challenged at all. Comparing him to PK Subban is way overboard.

Not really, he skates well. He passes the puck competently(though I don't think he has much of a playmaking game).

He is good positionally. He has an excellent shot.

I never said he is as good as PK Subban. Honestly, I haven't seen enough of him to make the judgement.

But, so far, he has reminded me of him and Subban's style of play.

Yep. Hard to clear out the rebounds when you're sliding around on your ass blocking shots.

If the guys want to block shots, they need to do the 'down on one knee' technique so they can stay in the play. Seen a couple D do that today, just not consistently.
