I don't get the Clowe hate. At least he doesn't just accept being pushed around physically like most guys on this team.

So that means we should all love him?

We should sign Puriton, Hollweg, Orr and Struds for next season. Nobody will push us around and we will love them all.

I think the bigger question is what's the love affair for an injury prone, washed up player who scored 3 goals in 42 games this season, despite being spoonfed ice time with elite offensive players (on the Sharks).

He seemed to me to have a very good effect on this team when he was healthy...

I've read the hate, but not the love affair. Several people do seem to think he adds a good dimension to Rangers game, but it certainly isn't love.

Are you sure his ice-time was spoonfeed and not earned based on performance and team needs?

The more you post the more I realize you have absolutely no idea what you're watching or what the expectations/roles for particular players are. Do you play hockey?

You guys should genuinely WANT to re-sign Clowe. He's injured now, but he's not an old/washed up player. People forget he's still just 30 years old. He brings a LOT to his team when he's healthy. If you guys don't put a contract in front of him, it'll be a bad move.

Let's see what he does tonight when the season is on the line and your star player is a healthy scratch.

Clowe isn't an awful hockey player. Those 4 are. But great comparison on your part, very accurate.

This entire saga is so damn dissapointing.

Every writer is saying the buyout will happen... no one is answering the question: Ok... What happens after that?

Will probably be a lot of teams taking advantage of amnesty buyouts, plenty of time to see what happens based on who is available.

clowe fights. clowe hits. clowe plays a gritty nasty game. clowe put up 8 points in 12 games while here, that translates to roughly a 55 point season. god forbid this team adds toughness and scoring.

Clowe does not play nasty, or at least I haven't noticed with the Rangers. Clowe doesn't hit as much due to lack of footspeed and for some reason played a finesse game, probably due to injuries limiting his physical play. He is a basically Todd Bertuzzi, but more injury prone.

However I do think he fits the team identity a lot. Slow, can't skate, prone to injury and can't generate offense.

I want to see him re-signed depending on the price. Clowe really changes the dynamic of this team.

I think this offseason will be a huge boost for him. Sign him, trade a D for a forward and, man, that is a NICE top-12.

I looked and didn't see one. I dont see why I should sift through 12 pages to find a simple answer to a simple question. No need to get all fussy.

12 pages? I posted it like two posts after yours.

I'm not fussy, just pointing it out. We're getting off-topic here.

I would love to resign him. We need the grit and leadership right now.

And I'm sure he'll play better tonight than Richards has at any point in this season.

reason to believe.. Providence Bruins had a 3-0 series lead and lost the series.. lets do the same to the Boston Bruins :yo:

3-2 Rangers OT win.. goals by Brassard (OT) Hagelin and Kreider

**** OT, lets do it in regulation 6-0!!! I called it.

Ok I scrolled past it then no big deal could have just answered again. Thanks for the info. So im hoping to see Clowe play as I feel having Clowe and Staal completely changes the series.

You're just after the 2nd round pick.

A lot of physical players go downhill in a hurry around 30.

from what i understand from sharks fans, clowe has not played bad this year he was snake bitten more than anything else. he also provided some offense when he was here along with a gritty game. i would resign him, not to a monster contract obviously. 3-4 years, 4 mill max
